Just part of his two year attempt to obstruct the trump investigation. This will be what Nadler has when Whitaker lied to the house committee when he testified.
"At no time has the W.H. asked for nor have I provided any promises or commitments concerning the special counsel investigation or any other investigation"

Ny times have an article on trumps obstruction.

Trump has publicly attacked the Russia investigation more than 1,100 times.

Trump has publicly criticized dozens of people and groups related to federal inquiries into contacts between his campaign and Russia

Whistleblowers from Trump's National Security Council have told the House Oversight Cmte that efforts by Michael Flynn to transfer sensitive nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia may have violated the law, and investigators fear Trump is still considering it

House Democrats plan to begin a full-scale inquiry into the White House's involvement in this proposed venture to bring nuclear technologies to Saudi Arabia.

The report quotes one senior Trump official as saying that the nuclear tech proposal was "not a business plan," but rather "a scheme for these generals to make some money," and added, "OK, you know we cannot do this."

The Committee said its probe "is particularly critical because the administration's efforts to transfer sensitive US nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia appear to be ongoing."

On Feb. 12, Trump met with nuclear power developers about sharing nuclear tech with Mid East countries

Stone to jail, or just a complete gag order?
Judge Amy Berman Jackson has scheduled a hearing for Thursday in the Roger Stone case to discuss "why the media contact order entered in this case and/or his conditions of release should not be modified or revoked in light of the posts on his Instagram account"

AG Jeff Sessions' former spokeswoman Sarah Isgur is joining CNN as a political editor -- yes, editor -- at the network Trump routinely rips as fake news. She will coordinate 2020 political coverage.

"Isgur has no experience in news."

In the summer of 2015, CNN had a roster of standard GOP panelists for its shouty shows, but there was a problem—they all thought Trump was bad. So at Trump’s personal recommendation, CNN hired Jeff Lord to come on and defend Trump

My first thought was Trump approves this and then, completely unrelated, Trump properties start springing up in Saudi Arabia.

But that's just me being cynical right?

More obstruction according to the NY Times. Manafort and Flynn had discussions with trump lawyers about possible pardons to disuade them from pleading guilty and helping Mueller

I think it's more than that. The middle east part of this is still to come out, how trump is obligated to the Saudi's because of money and assistance with the election, based around his property deals there a nd possibly more money laundering. Majeski Act sanctions report against Saudi was due legally from trump last week but he's ignored it.
Then there's Kusher using the Saudis to put pressure on Qatar with a blockade when they wouldn't bail out his failed business, which was lifted very shortly after the Qataries gave him funding.

All done in plain sight which somehow makes it ok to GOP leadership? If his tweets were emails he would be in jail already so I don't understand what the difference is.

More obstruction, of a different sort
House and Senate Democrats say they have obtained evidence that a senior official at the Education Department tried to oust the department's independent watchdog after she pushed back on an attempt to interfere in an active investigation of Betsy DeVos.

They tried to replace them with a handpicked official who was favourable to Devos

I mean, if trump can do it...

You missed trump attacking the press.

The Washington Post is a Fact Checker only for the Democrats. For the Republicans, and for your all time favorite President, it is a Fake Fact Checker!

I wonder if thats because the Washington Post updated their trump fact checker
759 days in office. 8,718 false or misleading claims from Trump. That's an average of 11.49 false claims a day,

Ok a bit more digging on this and there's a couple of sources suggesting that SDNY office are getting ready to indict trump and his family.
Newsweek & politico and others
https://www.newsweek.com/new-york-investigators-in...
https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/18/trump-ne...

Is this why trump had a flip at the weekend about the investigations against him. Is this why we are now hearing about his attempt to obstruct the SDNY investigations.

The the NY times story has Matt Whitaker, Sean Spicer, and Don McGahn allegedly all trying to stand up to trump, i.e. trying to put them in a good light, meanign they think something is coming and they are trying to get out of it. Then the Qatar government last week said it had no idea they had bailed out Kushner. Rats leaving a sinking ship?

Since mid 2017, Sean Spicer, Reince Priebus, and Don McGahn have all been represented by the same criminal defense attorney in the Trump obstruction investigation, William Burck
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/350006...

This means they can all have the same defense, with no possibility of any conflict in the stories they present. We know McGahn has been cooperating with Mueller for some time, and suddenly they are trying to use the media to portray these team trump members in a positive light. Bannon has the same lawyer, which means that there's a real possibility that all 4 have turned against trump in an effort to stay out of jail.

Somethings coming soon...

This story appears to suggest that the Mueller probe will come to nothing, but that the work he has done has opened up loads of doors for other bodies to launch their own, possibly far more successful, inquiries:

Trump administration launches global effort to end criminalization of homosexuality

It would be great news if this is successful in even in one country. Can't wait to see how it is spun against him.

It's ok, you can say you support the decriminalisation of homosexuality without people thinking you're a Trump supporter.

he seems to think it's illegal to be gay.
I think he needs to look at the U.S. Supreme Court in a 6–3 decision in Lawrence v. Texas which struck down the Texas same-sex sodomy law, ruling that this private sexual conduct is protected by the liberty rights implicit in the due process clause of the United States Constitution.

Ah apologies if it was in response to something else. Read it was about Trump seeking to stop transgenders in the military forces.
