Am i right in thinking all his cash was credit and good will etc and infact 3bn was probably a lie. If you are that rich leave the uk live somewhere warm out of public eye an tax authorities
Yes. I don't think there's any way, either legitimate or bent, that you can generate that kind of money without it being widely known for a fact that you've actually done it.

Underneath the eye-catching convoys of Rolls-Royces, there wasn't any real substance to the business, was there?
This is kind of what I meant. He is was rich but I doubt ever a billionaire other than marrying daughter of one. To be that rich you tend to own large corporation, an oil field, the patent for cardboard boxes, be ruler of a nation. To be none of the above and be that rich is not likely. Even the super rich hedgies still have a clear paper trail. For this guy it seems crime was likely in which cases surely make billions laundering money would have required you to launder trillions.

My guess is family ties front man launders money gets to live large as a art dealer playboy starts to believe he is that rich runs out of cash police come knocking

I suspect the truth is very simple, and will out in very short order.

He's got a lot of front, but doesn't seem to me to have a lot of wit. I'd be surprised if he was better at money laundering than money laundering investigators are good at catching money launderers.

Maybe he's still on the outside as he's being used as the sprat to catch the mackerel?

The TV show is DCBL, the name on the letter is Burlington, unfortunately.

It could only the Daily Mail that reported it I suppose: to be charged with money laundering and forgery apparently

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8279261/P...

He is, of course, stating he is innocent and that he will defend the charges

You have to love the Mail that they keep digging on this despite all the intimation Stunt tries to throw their way...

TBH I thought he would be found in a ditch with an "overdose" anytime now...

Is he about to cut off his own head in a freak shaving accident by any chance?

Tha man has (had?) a Rolls Royce with after market alloys with low profile tyres.

Oh and his drivers were all tts, parking up in the pay and display bays when all the cars had permits.

The trial for the theft at his house is currently ongoing.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8971181/J...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/11/19/james-...

Thought this bit was particularly strange.....

“ Mr Stunt said the safe had been completely emptied. "The whole thing had been cleaned out. There was literally not a receipt left. They took both my passports - my diplomatic and citizen ones.”

Why would he have a diplomatic passport?

Ever the bullstter. It’s not important but throw it in and he thinks it makes him sound important. His assets frozen for years. He’s a suspected criminal. He doesn’t hold any diplomatic passports and probably not any travel document.

One for visiting Israel and the other for visiting countries in the Middle East that hate Israel?

(Didn't Top Gear have to do similar on the Bethlehem road trip?)
