He could still have had a good piece of cake and eaten it if he hadn't been so greedy.
I think that's the underlying psychological issue with a lot, in his position, in this culture of greed. A good slice is never enough, they want it all, to the exclusion of almost everybody else.Halb - do you default to smilies on your posts or is it a conscious decision each time?
I quite like it but sometimes it confuses me, as with this one!!

A good slice is never enough, they want it all, to the exclusion of almost everybody else. The dumbest thing Green did was to be ostentatiously flash with his cash. Once you make yourself the news, all bets regarding a fair hearing or privacy are off.

Did you go to the Dog & Duck for a beer?
No.If the REPROBATES from the Aston Martin forum were going to be there I well may have.
They don't post when they are meeting up,which leads me to conclude I'm either persona non grata, which I can fully understand,or they wish to remain a selective cabal. ,

Further to my post above and as a light hearted bit of info....
I took my wife to the Wong Kei an establishment in Chinatown in London and one which we often frequent.
To our dismay and consternation it was closed.
On the door was a missive from the apposite authority that the restaurant was forced to close because there was evidence of an infestation of cockroaches and other undesirable objects.
So went to another restaurant in Chinatown.
A similar meal was ordered,a bowl of duck noodle soup.
I inform you that it was not as tasty as the one in the Wong Kei.
My conclusion is that the cockroaches and mouse droppings are vital components for a tasty meal when dining in Chinatown.
Poor show there.I took my wife to the Wong Kei an establishment in Chinatown in London and one which we often frequent.

I remember the last time I went to the infamous Wong Kei and my brother said to the waiter he had heard they were rude but he disagreed.
The waiter promptly told him to pay the bill and F OFF!
We then left happy.

Before I became a regular punter, that they recognised,on my entry to the establishment a waiter would always growl
" UPSTAIRS ".
Regardless if there was available seating on the ground floor
Now this pissed me off,so I took to developing a pronounced limp on entry to the establishment, and muttering them to feck off.
This seemed to do the trick and solve the issue.

Ground floor for singletons, or basement if ground floor full.

Conscious, though my common default is the smile, I always try and post in good humour with all, though I am not infallible.Halb - do you default to smilies on your posts or is it a conscious decision each time?

The smiley always connects to the post.
I do find though, as a 'little person', so much wrong or fked up about how the world is run, against common sense, that there is no point in getting worked up about it (upset/agitated etc), so I always try and maintain a wry smile about even the most fked-up of situations, like the rapacious culture of greed which permeates at the top levels. I even attempt this with some of the positions I find on PH that support that culture. So that's why the smile, just like in life, I take a stepback, have a drink and consider the next issue.
Sometimes it feels like we're living in an episode of Monty Python.

We took my mother here (it was ironic and for a laugh) for her Birthday a good ôfew years ago.... We were sent downstairs and to be fair, we were not surprised to see several mice!!! Finished our food though I took my wife to the Wong Kei an establishment in Chinatown in London and one which we often frequent.

Utter toilet of a place but quite amusing!! Food ok but great value.
Did I mention it was a bit of a toilet?
Many years ago, went here with some work colleagues; two of us used to pay for everyone and one of the chaps who was right up his own 4rse and behaved accordingly made a big fuss about the menu and asking questions. The waiter put him in his place with:
"What do you want? What? What?" - a moment too long hesitation from 4rse bloke and waiter almost shouts: "what you want? Now... What?? You a woman or something? Just tell me!"
We all thought 'Ronald' could be an 4rse and this went down in history as putting him in his place
