I can’t recall him ever saying he was a reformed man or even trying to intimate that. He only ever said he wanted to negotiate from a position of some strength.
That was clearly a figure of speech.

And I don't recall him ever saying he wanted to negotiate from a position of strength. He 'did' say he wanted to denuke the KP - it's how he's going about it that concerns me.

Kim is jumping the gun on this. You'd think he'd have saved events like this for post negotiating table.

Further evidence that he thinks that 'his' word and members of the press (controlled by minders) taking a few photos will be enough to convince the world that he's a reformed man.

Maybe part of the deal to go to the negotiating table was to blow that up first. Then they can talk about opening up the border and the lifting of pie & cake trading at the dinner table.

That was also clearly a figure of speech but its clear to everyone that that is what he wanted.

He can walk away from talks if he gets nothing from them knowing that he now has nukes so is somewhat insulated against reckless aggression. But this Donald ‘reckless’ Trump we’re talking about. biggrin

From a NK perspective, who should he have there to oversee the demolition of this site?

The UN have proved themselves to be very biased, so their weapons inspectors will not be sufficient
Is there a single country or even group of countries that could send inspectors- In reality every country is going to fall on one side of the bias fence.
And so media. From China, US and Russia. It's quick, sends a message to the world and the message cannot be so easily manipulated, even if the original story is.

And what if this is just a ploy and he has other hidden sites ready to start testing once again.
Are you serious? of course he does. but it would make no difference if this was UN observers or the media. they would still be well hidden.

I see Michael Palin has done a travel documentary through North Korea - http://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-05-22/micha...

"Palin was granted unprecedented access to the country following two years of planning and complex negotiations" <--- whilst being followed and spied on at all times no doubt.

He's always quick to pull out, just ask Karen McDougal.

Again showing he is not to be trusted. What excuse did he give? Has Kim not done everything asked of him?

Article here:

Trump cancels North Korea nuclear summit
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/may/24/tr...

Haha. How awesome trump. Get your way then renege on deal.

Potential outcomes;
Kim holds talk with SK. He will ask for removal of US, and SK will really have to acquiesce. No US present to defend staying.
Kim restarts nuclear programme. You didn’t really believe they just destroyed their only nuclear facility did you?
Talks carry on without trump. US does it out of the limelight.

I really don’t see any benefit in Trump having done this, but then the guy is fking retarded
