North Korea suggesting they’re still open to talks.
What with this and the EU-talks pantomime, it makes me worry about world politics and the people ‘leading’ us

Sky news twitter feed showing the journey through NK and some small bangs pretending to dismantle their nuclear programme:

This is all a sham. They've blown up some knackered old tunnel entrances to a test site that was already out of action due to a mountain sitting down on it and all of a sudden the world is expected to believe he's dismantled his nuclear test program? What !?
This is nowhere near irreversible and verifiable de-nuclearisation, not even close. The meetings haven't even begun on this yet.
But I'm sure Kim is now fully expecting Trump to meet with him and announce the US withdrawal from SK in return.
This is going nowhere.

Maybe its because they live in a bubble - but does the DPRK really think the world is convinced that they have dismantled their nuclear program with the broadcast of some low grade hollywood-esque explosions. Pure cinema.
Even the most gullible out there must be able to see that this is all a show. The world has right to be very cynical about NK's intentions. They are being very disingenuous and the facility closing ceremony is just a ruse carried out for a multitude of reasons.
The whole thing is nothing more than some very transparent PR exercise which will only fool the most gullible out there.

But there could be no other way. no matter how many inspectors you put in there it would still be a sham. In a country so locked down, secretive and controlled, there will be no way inspectors could work out if everything was destroyed. If anyone actually thinks they were really going to get rid of all of their research they they're fking idiots.
But that doesn't really matter. nuclear tests are very easy to spot.
As I said before, the US pulling out of this is not in the US best interest, NK don't really need them for any talks. SK are the important party here, after that China, then the US and Russia. All this will do is stop the US from being able to argue their case of keeping bases in SK

Quite, and it was going in the right direction, it still seems to be, since the USA aren't needed. As I said before, the US pulling out of this is not in the US best interest, NK don't really need them for any talks. So it's not worry time just yet.

If they go ahead with the talks then good for them, if not, then their own media will start calling them a puppet gvmt again. NK influence in SK media/politics (which is the same thing essentially!) is larger than would be liked.
