Is this some decoy thread where the ‘specials’ and habitually offended of PH usually fester away from the rest arguing with each other, to be occasionally stumbled on by the unwitting and so unite to disagree with anything that’s said??

It is?

I see

Unsurprisingly, you're confusing "unwitting" with "witless".

Nope. As that would make the habitually offended look even worse than they do already.

Is there a cruise ship with 300 odd people infected? Should get some true stats from that surely?

The only thing that worries me is the possibility of a future virus that’s deadly, I work in the water and waste water industry, it wouldn’t take long where the lack of staff would put everyone in the brown stuff! Quite frightening really

The Epidemiological Characteristics of an Outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus Diseases COVID 19 China 2020 said:
In light of this rapid spread, it is fortunate that COVID-19 has been mild for 81% of patients and has a very low overall case fatality rate of 2.3%. among the 1,023 deaths, a majority have been ≥60 years of age and/or have had pre-existing, comorbid conditions such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Moreover, the case fatality rate is unsurprisingly highest among critical cases at 49%, and no deaths have occurred among those with mild or even severe symptoms
Death rate tallies with what everyone else is typically saying. Well, everyone else who counts, at least. Also the same characterisation of the group most at risk. Not sure what the final sentence implies other than that there are no cases where someone with 'only' severe symptoms suddenly dies, rather they always progress to a period of severe symptoms first?

Like i have said before in this thread i don't believe almost anything off there, however i don't believe a lot that the worlds msm says either.

It isn't that far fetched for various diseases to be man made. It is ignorant to believe everything world governments tell us.

Is it normal that its just chinese people dying and they are using extreme measures to contain people, meanwhile every where else carries on. I simply don't believe our government or others are simply that stupid, no matter who is in charge.

...it's China. There's always a political angle. Even if that's "avoid embarrassment". Trying to second guess if reports are true, or false, or extrapolate anything relating to "why" from them is a pointless futile exersize.
Avoiding embarrassment - the figures would be under recorded but there's no evidence of that although what little info there is from the population seems to indicate it to be the case. Albeit they are in a fish tank of fear.
Avoiding embarrassment can be many things as can trying to look in control in difficult circumstances.

Making a problem look worse and then successfully resolving it can also avoid embarrassment.

We really don’t know what the CCP are thinking and if the numbers are over it under.
Relevant. I just hope Munter thinks so as he’ll be along in a minute and we’ll know then if it’s upset him.
V6 you do realise Exige was saying the same thing I was?

We can speculate all we want. It'll be no use and make no difference to anybody here though.

Everything is has a political angle. What that angle is is known only to the people making decisions.

Apart from the ridiculousness of using a website that openly considers such topics as humanity enslaved by hidden lizard overlords, the provenance of the virus has been analysed. It has genetic markers indicating bat>pangolin provenance.

It is feasible that a lab took an existing virus a fiddled with it's RNA. Researchers have done it before: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/exclusi...

I am not saying this happened in this case just that it is possible.

I am not saying it is true, I'm just saying i enjoy reading it and it isn't too far fetched imo.
