The only thing that worries me is the possibility of a future virus that’s deadly, I work in the water and waste water industry, it wouldn’t take long where the lack of staff would put everyone in the brown stuff! Quite frightening really

Death rate tallies with what everyone else is typically saying. Well, everyone else who counts, at least. Also the same characterisation of the group most at risk. Not sure what the final sentence implies other than that there are no cases where someone with 'only' severe symptoms suddenly dies, rather they always progress to a period of severe symptoms first?Ridgemont said:

Is it normal that its just chinese people dying and they are using extreme measures to contain people, meanwhile every where else carries on. I simply don't believe our government or others are simply that stupid, no matter who is in charge.

Avoiding embarrassment - the figures would be under recorded but there's no evidence of that although what little info there is from the population seems to indicate it to be the case. Albeit they are in a fish tank of fear. Making a problem look worse and then successfully resolving it can also avoid embarrassment.
We really don’t know what the CCP are thinking and if the numbers are over it under.
We can speculate all we want. It'll be no use and make no difference to anybody here though.
Everything is has a political angle. What that angle is is known only to the people making decisions.

It is feasible that a lab took an existing virus a fiddled with it's RNA. Researchers have done it before: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/exclusi...I am not saying this happened in this case just that it is possible.

I am not saying it is true, I'm just saying i enjoy reading it and it isn't too far fetched imo. it has genetic markers indicating bat......or at least that's what you've been told so its correct and true....
