Sadly there are many videos available clearly showing the police are not always right.
Prime example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91QaFedj-yw (this chap is one of the more normal people like you and I...there are plenty more people who admittedly goad the police and don't do themselves any favors but still correct)
I know we're all supposed to be good little citizens and trust in the Police 100%...but sadly standards are slipping (off a cliff it seems) and this is no longer the case.
Ideally you should always video any traffic police stops just in case.
That guy seems incredibly unlucky with the law looking at the number of vids he posts smile
It's worth watching them to see how the Police behave when confronted with someone who (completely within their rights) stands up to them. They're a bunch of muppets in most cases.
Not that bad but once I drove down a one way street and pulled into a very small car park, plod pulled behind me and as I got out of the car they said "Do you know what you have just done sir", I said "Yes, locked my car", obvious I thought, but he claimed I had driven up the road the wrong way, I explaind why they were wrong, and pointed out that I had passed a blue van parked up, they said yes they had seen that as well, which means they were driving behing me.

However they insisted I came the other way, then his mate backed him up, at this point I said "Hang on a moment, I am getting a pad from my car and I need your names or numbers".

Then they started to back down, I went to the plod station to submit a complaint, told the desk sergent my story, and he asked what my problem was. I said well if they had done me and it had one to court, two against one, I would loose, to which he said "Not necessary sir", I said forget it.

I do wish I had pursued it. All this happened in broad daylight. One could have made a mistake, the other was lying to back him up.

But generally speaking I do support our police, in all walkes of life there are some bad apples in the barral. Two live in Aberdeen.

Are they?

How are you drawing that conclusion?
Birmingham six?
Hillsborough?
Standards are (present) 'falling off a cliff' because of serious events a generation ago that wouldn't occur in the modern era because of an improvement in standards.

I think you'll need to revisit the logic with that one since you've actually supported the opposite.

Apologies for dragging this thread back on course. Looks like the usual community backlash is starting with a woeful piece in the Independent.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, sells drugs like a duck and is convicted of (very) dangerous driving like a duck, then there's a good chance it's a duck.

Apart from the 100% of comments below the article. Why the Indie has published this nonsense is beyond me.

Unbelievable how that writer has completely missed the chance to compare the scumbag in the audi with the hard working bloke in the cab.
Same ethnicity, completely different people.

I guess calling everyone racist for calling a drug dealer a drug dealer is easier...

It's a contributed comment piece, not the paper's view or opinion, just that of the writer. Many of the papers do 'em.

It's why the Independent isn't a newspaper anymore.

So the Indie doesn't have any editorial control over its own content ?

Yes.

Does that mean they agree with them? No.

Earlier in the week before we knew about the drug dealing etc I clicked a newspaper link and ended up on the FB page of one of the victims, check out the comments below, reads more like an Arabic event than a accident from a British city:

If it was the FB page of one of the Muslim victims why is it a surprise that it's full of Muslim prayers?

I have known a few policeman over the years. Including quite a few traffic officers in Lancashire. What some of those guys have to seefrom the aftermaths of accidents is quite like something from a war zone.
I have also seen pictures of accidents and its like chunks of meat. I didn't chuckle but grimaced when way back earlier on in the thread someone mentioned how come some of the bodies had their trousers down. I assumed it was a genuine question rather than a veiled reference to unusual activity while driving.
Simple reason is the force of the crash impact.
I have talked to officers who have recovered bodies in several pieces strewn across a stretch of carriageway.

Some of the Police will see stuff that they have to put to one side and investigated properly. Theses guys are human many with family and kids and what some have to see is shocking. The same goes of course for the Ambulance and fire services. These people are not robots just folk like you and I
Perhaps at times that should be remembered more.

What kind of mental gymnastics do you need to perform to write this garbage? Maybe he's just a monumental cretin.

How can a dead man defend himself? This brings back echoes of Mark Duggan’s case, where his character was also assassinated by the media. They called him a gangster and a drug dealer.
rofl This is your supporting evidence? Guess what, nobody gives a fk about Mark Duggan either. They called him a gangster and a drug dealer because he was black actually a fking gangster and a drug dealer.

What a fking insult to that bloody Taxi driver. That article has really boiled my piss mad

Quite right. Then you come home and find someone is moaning that the road's been closed by the 'incompetent' Police.
Sometimes people really need to take a good look at themselves
