the assassin was a Turk, apparently born in Turkey and never lived in Syria nor spoke their language, the only thing common with syrian rebels is the same branch of their religionso he's got to do with Syrians as much as a random Pakistani from Luton or Bradford, I doubt TM would find the same understanding if such an act took place near his place of living
After months of whining about the Russians using cluster bombs on those lovely, cuddly, and fluffy moderate rebels it turns out our mates the Saudis have been using British made cluster bombs in Yemen but our esteemed leaders think that is okay because the Saudis only use them on military targets - this is the same Saudi Arabia who can't tell the difference between a school, hospital or military training camp therefore just bombs them all indiscriminately.
If Britain and America want to lecture others about war crimes then at least be consistent about it.

Assassination of Russian Ambassador in Turkey must be condemned, but blood begets blood. What happened to Syria will have violent ramifications for years to come.
So many people have been killed in Aleppo is anyone surprised this happened? The greatest person to fear is the one who has nothing left to lose.

Following all the controversy about 'Fake News' which has suddenly been pushed by the mainstream media who are upset that there are other sources out there about things like the Middle East conflicts, or domestic politics, who the public are finding to be more credible than the big channels and newspapers:
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-20/5-arreste...
Basically a bunch of people making staged "wounded children" photos, which they were planning to use to misrepresent on social media as photos of destruction and injured people in Aleppo.
Somehow I doubt that we'll hear too much of this on the main news outlets. Just like we hear next to nothing about the huge offensive in Mosul.

I was only discussing Syria as it the theme of this thread.moving on, just passed at the UN;
The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday voted to establish a special team to prepare cases on war crimes and human rights abuses committed during the war in Syria.
The proposed body will "collect, consolidate, preserve and analyse evidence” and will work in coordination with the UN Syria Commission of Inquiry.
The General Assembly adopted a Liechtenstein-drafted resolution to establish the independent team with 105 in favor, 15 against and 52 abstentions. Assad regime and its allies, Russia and Iran, objected to the resolution and accused the assembly of interfering in the work of the Security Council.
Liechtenstein UN Ambassador Christian Wenaweser told the General Assembly ahead of the vote: "We have postponed any meaningful action on accountability too often and for too long."
Wenaweser said inaction has sent "the signal that committing war crimes and crimes against humanity is a strategy that is condoned and has no consequences."
I'd like to find out which countries other than Syria, Russia, Iran, Iraq and Lebanon voted against this resolution, Can I make a guess, China, Sudan, N. Korea...
With the colour of PH no doubt someone will find something against Liechtenstein LOL.
Phil
So do we see a number of countries potentially leaving the UN?
I can't see the scope of investigation. Will the US, UK, Saudi, Turkey and their allies [AQ etc] be also challenged? along with the Syrians and Russians? Genuine question.

Syrian ambassador names foreign intelligence operatives in Aleppo.
Worth watching to the end, specifically his comments on the moderate opposition.

The ex-British Ambassador to Syria has accused the Foreign Office of lying over the country’s civil war and said British policy there has "made the situation worse". Peter Ford said the Whitehall department led by Boris Johnson and Philip Hammond before him had "gotten Syria wrong every step of the way", and was now falsely claiming Bashar Assad could not control the country when he is "well on the way to doing so".

He said: "The British Foreign Office to which I used to belong, I’m sorry to say has gotten Syria wrong every step of the way.
"They told us at the beginning that Assad’s demise was imminent. They told us he’d be gone by Christmas. They didn’t say which Christmas, so they could still be proven correct.
"But then they told us that the opposition was dominated by these so-called moderates. That proved not to be the case and now they're telling us another big lie – that Assad can’t control the rest of the country. Well I’ve got news for them – he’s well on the way to doing so."
