The only time I've known someone like that is a chap I worked with who was very obese - had a lot of problems breathing... or perhaps it's to narrow the chance of missing unexpected flying pie.

So is it him?

Looking at some of the photo comparisons, I'm not wholly convinced.

I've worked it out, the only ever time I have seen that is with one of the human face transplants where the skin/face doesn't quite match the skull and mouth, would also explain the scar line. smile

We’ll miss him when he’s gone. Hard to believe someone in their 30s can have all these health problems I think he’s only 36.

I’m thinking the leading industry over there are those little notepads all the flunkies carry at the ready to record Kim Phat’s random thoughts.

North Korea leader Kim Jong Un said his country’s hard-won nuclear weapons were a solid security guarantee and a “reliable, effective” deterrent that could prevent a second Korean War, state media has reported.
Mr Kim said in his speech on Monday his country has tried to become “a nuclear state” with “an absolute might” to prevent another war and that it has now built such a deterrent, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

“Now, we’ve changed to a country which can defend itself reliably and unwaveringly against high-intensity pressures and military threats and blackmailing by imperialistic reactionaries and hostile forces,” he said.
“There won’t be any war on this land again and our national security and future will be guaranteed firmly and permanently because of our reliable, effective self-defensive nuclear deterrent.”

His speech followed recent remarks by both North Korean and US officials suggesting they were reluctant to engage in a new round of diplomacy on the North’s nuclear program anytime soon.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had said President Donald Trump would only want to engage with Mr Kim if there were real prospects of progress.
Mr Kim’s sister and senior ruling party official, Kim Yo Jong, said a new summit would be “unpractical” for North Korea and that Pyongyang will not gift Mr Trump a high-level meeting that he can boast as a foreign policy achievement.

Kim Jong Un and Mr Trump met three times since Mr Kim in 2018 abruptly reached out to Washington and Seoul for talks after expressing his intent to deal away his advancing nuclear arsenals.

Many experts were sceptical of Mr Kim’s disarmament commitment and said he only aimed to weaken US-led sanctions and perfect his nuclear program.
The nuclear diplomacy remains largely stalled since a second meeting in February 2019 in Vietnam collapsed without reaching any agreement because Mr Trump rejected Mr Kim’s proposal to get extensive sanctions relief in return for a limited denuclearisation step.
Mr Kim entered this year with a vow to bolster his nuclear program and threatened to unveil a new “strategic” weapon.
He also said he would no longer be bound by a self-imposed moratorium on nuclear and long-range missile tests.
Mr Kim has not performed such high-profile weapons tests, which some analysts say could completely derail diplomacy with the US.

Anyone interested in N Korea.

There’s a great podcast about dictators I’ve been listening to

https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/real-dictato...

Three episodes about Kim Jong il and Stalin was covered earlier.

Some great insight and accounts into N Korean history and how they got to where they are today.

I asked my north Korean friend what it's like to live in Korea.

He says he can't complain.

North Korea has 1.2 million 'soldiers', and 6 million reservists. Can you imagine equipping that lot with weapons and ammo, plus transport, plus the logistics of supplying them all? Mind you, they do seem to have about 100,000 generals to organize it. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s not looking good for Kim.

My friend who has done a few bits over there for him, including a renovation on an old inter city 125 that Kim had kitted out with hot tubs and 3g with flat screen tv’s etc..... has been in touch to say he’s been ill for a while.

My friend is in the middle of his latest project for Kim, this being a hybrid Super Nintendo system that plays an updated version of Super Mario. He doesn’t know if he’s going to get a chance to finish it due to Kim’s poor health. The Mario character has been replaced with a character similar to Kim and when you jump on things to squash them they have been changed to characters that represent other world leaders and some of them even his own people.

Some of the end levels have been changed so that the boss you fight against is a old uncle of Kim’s that he had killed a while ago and instead of throwing turtle shells at them you have the option of a anti aircraft gun or a nuke.

Apparently Nintendo have allowed this after hearing that Sega has been approached so that Kim could adapt Sonic the hedgehog in to a space race game with Dr Sputnik and instead of collecting gold rings you collect vouchers that can be exchanged for state credits. Credits buy you such things as old spice, Betamax video players and Hillman Hunters.

The prosaic answer is that they would struggle to actually supply them with food in any kind of warfighting situation, never mind manoeuvre or fight effectively; never mind the quality, feel the width. The US has MLRS units in RoK for very sensible reasons.

The would probably utilise a kind of World War Z formation fighting.

Seeing a bit of traction for the “in a coma, sister in charge” story now

Being attributed to a former South Korean diplomat

Is the sister his sister, or half sister? Who knows?
