I'd prefer not to have to make such a choice.
I think it is safe to say unless the cut throat world of accountants has changed back recently from the good old days of near James Bond exploits, it is something you won't have to confront. It's a jungle I tell ya.
There was even one instance where I heard that someone might have a contract out on me. I was really concerned, I mean, the contract might not have been IR35 compliant.

We had a client who owed a great deal of money to someone after being lumbered with a bad debt themselves.
As we were the registered office, some 'Irish' persons made themselves known to us, explaining clearly their connections, and demanded we pay them or be blown to pieces. Couldn't explain to them that we were 'just' the registered office, they were having none of it.
Very threatning stuff indeed. Police involved, and the boss checking the underside of his car each night!
We were all terrified and had the door locked on the office during the day for about 2 weeks.

The reports on this story are so crap. The mail report has her as a 73 year old woman at the top of the page, then in her 60's by the time you get to the bottom of the article. Are these things just not checked? That's supposed to be a professional website.
They haven't even put in the value of her apartment, standards are slipping at the wail.swiftpete said:

Most of it is probably rumour....but there's no smoke without fire.

Give were you practice, I am not surprised ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Hell I'd have the door locked anyway to stop that lot of vagabonds next door in
![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

We've had drunks in wanting just to use the toilet too.
Anyway, we're going OT, but after a couple of weeks, the police confirmed with us that they'd spoken to these particular people, as they were kind enough to provide contact details so we could pay lol!

Make of this what you will, but on the Guardian this article was not accompanied by a photograph even though it's mentioned that the 'Police released still images of the man on Saturday night'.
Needless to say I wasn't shocked when I went elsewhere and found said still images...
Because as we all know, only black people commit crime. Needless to say I wasn't shocked when I went elsewhere and found said still images...
You're a right pleb.
Hell, it's not even a stereotypical black crime such as muggings, stabbings or drive bys. It's someone dressing up as an exterminator and setting someone on fire.. Is there some kind of black stereotype I'm missing here?
It is a flaming awful attack.
Not to go into too much detail, but we work quite closely with some local neighbourhood watch groups. They have occasional aggravated burglaries. These include quite a few where the family have all been tied up (except the bloke of the house) and the wife and kids doused in petrol (out of a jerry can) with a chap standing over them with a lit match suggesting the bloke goes and opens the safe/gets the car keys etc. Fortunately, I don't think anyone's actually been set alight...yet.
This is also in a 'nice' part of London with one of the lowest crime stats!
It's a nasty world out there!
