Lib Dems 'should' walk it.

Hmm. They had a good win last time. But this is not last time!

UKIP are starting from their highest base so far, 16% - that's higher than Rotherham, Corby etc.
One poll yesterday apparently surprisingly shows more Lib-Dems and Labour voters than Tories who may switch allegience to UKIP.

Interesting.

O'Farrell stood for Labour in Maidenhead in 1997 (or one of the Blair elections thereafter). A dead loss seat for Labour. Evidently he's gathering material for a book on being a losing candidate in elections.

Oh God no, not him!

One of the very worst Christmas presents I ever had was when my wife bought me one of his 'funny' books. I had to pretend to read and find wry amusement, even to fake a chortle every now and then, to seem grateful. My will, and the ploy, died after about 50 pages. Dire would be to do diservice to direness.

So is the tory woman the only one actually from the constituency ?

I wonder if these candidates who have a fair idea that there is no chance of a win get pressured in to standing to keep the party happy ?

The guardian calls him a "party grunt", god knows what the telegraph is calling him hehe

Lib Dem are goign to win.

I make this prediction based on the massive quantity of Lib Dem propaganda that's dropped through the letter box. Hardly a thing from anyone else.

Lib Dems - winning votes by wasting paper.

I've travelled through the area today. Lots of Lib Dem posters/placards in gardens, quite a few tory ones too.
Only labour ones I saw were in the clutches of leaflet droppers in Fair Oak.

The Tory woman seems a bit of a loose cannon from what I've read - not ideal for these circumstances.

Had lots of stuff through the letter box this weekend - mainly Lib Dem and Tory (some UKIP too). Chap from Labour actually knocked on the door though. I wasn't rude, but I didn't linger long after saying "oh well" following his introduction!! Not winning here!

Write "none of the above, they're all 2@s" on the ballot paper, be just as useful as a vote for the bostids.

Anyone desirous of winding O'Farrell up, get him going on Thatcher, stand back and watch him spoil his manners. Old Labour. No chance.

Little piece on the radio over the weekend, results of a poll showed Labour in 4th behind UKIP.

But I reckon you are pretty close.

Seems about right.

Pretty woeful mid-term result for Labour if that comes to pass.

btw Norman Tebbit has had a bit of a go at O'Farrell today.

The muppet wrote in his book that it was a shame that Maggie left her bathroom two minutes earlier when the Brighton bomb went off. Tebbit has asked O'Farrell if his disappointment was eased by the injuries that Mrs Tebbit incurred in the same bombing.
