I'd like to see Hilary Benn in the role, but it will never happen.
I'm afraid I cannot stand that man, he would do nothing to lure me back to the fold
He's like a mirror image of his father.
He is the diametric opposite of his father.
Sorry, yes, that's what I meant.

I don't agree with any of Tony Benn's politics, but at least he meant it.

I admired Tony (Benn, not Blair...) too. Two outstanding Labour MP's IMO. I held Blunket in high regard too, an incredibly sharp guy, with a cutting sarcastic humour.

Looks like the official start will begin around the 7th January with a new leader in place by the end of March.

Why it’s going to take that long is a mystery, no doubt to give Momentum time to get their man or, more likely, woman in place and begin the smear campaign against the moderates.

Why on earth are they even considering Rebecca and Angela? They turn off voters in just the same way as Corbyn. BUrgon? Some sort of joke surely to even suggest it.

Starmer and Cooper have the right sort of leadership qualities & credibility, irrespective of their view on Remain/Leave.

Ideology before electability.

Hopefully Emily Thornberry.

Her intellect level and debating skills would be comedy gold in PMQ’s. Boris would make mincemeat of her.
Thornberry was excellent at PMQs whenever she stood in for Corbyn. She was so much better than her boss that he sacked her from the job and repacked her with Wrong-Daily. She would make mincemeat of Johnson. She’s a barrister, and detail & consistency are not his strong points, to put it politely...
I don't think her other name (Lady Nugee) will go down that well in some constituencies, once they are made properly aware of it.

Can I join for £3 and vote Angela Crayons in as leader? That will be hilarious, she makes Diane Abbott look as clever as Victoria Coren Mitchell.
Not this time... The £3 vote was only so they could get Corbyn in... They raised it to £25 and only allowed 2 days to register when Owen Smith challenged Corbyn. It is £50 now unless you qualify for a reduction (retired etc.) to £25. The only way to vote for £3 is to borrow the ID of a 14-19 year old. The decision therefore is whether it is worth signing up this time, after all Corbyn won despite all those who signed up and Labour members seem to be stupid enough to vote for Angela Crayons without our help. biglaugh

If the Labour Party want to continue it’s present forward planning, lots of sheep to be found, Oh jeremy, oh jeremy. Sad.

Just been reading about Lisa Nandy - I reckon a decent candidate, but she’s described how she got abuse from Corbyn supporters within the party when she didn’t support his election as leader.
I guess she’s too centre for Momentum.

Lisa Nandy has no personality. Looks like she has just been told off and bleats on about poverty
She is Labours version of Swinson

A good mate is a Conservative Association chairman, he’s also still a member of the Labour party, as indeed are many of his Association chums! The idea being to vote for the most unelectable left-wing person they can find on the appropriate form. Last time it was Corbyn, although they were sweating in ’17...

Probably about the right age too

Next leader but one, if he actually wants to play Blair rather than Kinnock. I think he'd be very electable: I haven't yet seen anything about him that I dislike. The problem there is that I'm a Conservative smile

He can clearly lie on a table, but can he sit on a fence?
