Both had UAE plates which I could not read!.
Probably Saudi or Kuwait as UAE (should!) display both Arabic and Romanic numerals.

It's illegal to drive on British roads with anything other than Romanic number plates - although is something that they turn a blind eye to.

One's a tcensoredt cause you're jealous, the other is just a tcensoredt
No, the Arabs are aholes. None of them can drive and all they do is rev their engines around Mayfair and Knightsbridge. None of the cars ever get properly driven.

Far from jealous, trust me on this. If they were ploughing up and down Knightsbridge in Fiat Puntos I would still have the same opinion. It is not what they are driving which is the issue, it is the noise.
Get some ears muffs then!
Are you serious? Idiots drive past your home all night, with little consideration for UK road laws, and residents are supposed to stuff in some earplugs in an attempt to sleep to go to work the next day?

PH likes fast cars, we like loud cars, but there is a time and a place. We have consideration here, the cars are nice but the owners attitudes sometimes leave a lot to be desired.

Thats pretty much my take on it ,the difference is I would think not a lot of section 59's would issued to the supercar drivers around there.

Residents living near the Knightsbridge store say their night-time peace is being shattered by the owners racing their sports cars through the streets, describing it as being ‘like the starting grid at Le Mans’.
Well they should move out of the stty area and move somewhere more pleasant
The story is utter rubbish, I spent most of last weekend in and around that area and whilst there were a few about I only saw/heard a DB9 and a Ford GT being caned down Park Lane. Very pleasant it was too.
What's unpleasant about the starting grid at Le Mans, exactly?

There's a British Superbike team based not far from where I live, and I frequently hear 'bikes being given the beans up and down the local A-road just round the corner. Don't know whether it's the race 'bikes, the workers on their way home or just fans, but it's nice to hear.
...technically there isnt a starting grid at Le mans as its a rolling start. And before that, they lined the sit wall. And before that, they ran accross the road. Ohh, imagine the noise as a hundred racing boots tore into the tarmac...

Oh dear.
I agree with you Muntu, the price of the car has nothing to do with it, if someone cuts me up in a Corsa or a Bentley they're both still tts and they'll both get the same hand gesture.

I was working in Knightsbridge for a month or so in June/July, it's an awful place at the moment and jealousy has nothing to do with it.

What would they write on the section 59?

Little point trying to enforce a law which relies on the recipient having a readable numberplate and a UK address.

Nice to see the cars parked up around there on a balmy evening, they really should stay that way though.

I posted a very similar comment on the Lambo crash thread not long ago.

These people think that their money puts them above our laws. That is wrong, and they should be educated to that effect as soon as possible and to the fullest extent of our laws*.

Money does not make someone better than you, and lack thereof does not make someone worse. Skills(/education), attitude and aptitude do. But I don't see anything here that our home-grown feckless Barry-Boys wouldn't do in the same position...

* But not one step further. These people have the money, education and privilege such that they have NO excuse for breaking any laws anywhere. They also have a LOT of money to pay some very big fines... wink

Going off topic a bit, but is Pistonheads obsessed with jealousy at the moment? It seems like any negative comment about someone who has money is automatically assumed to be a spiteful outburst of jealousy inspired by the Trotskyite commentator's own sense of failure.

I know what you mean

I'll admit to be envious of people that have cars I can only dream about, but it's a healthy envy, it's an envy that inspires me to work harder save more and work my way up the car ladder

Anyone who has anything special IMO deserves it if they themselves choose to, they've either worked hard or been very lucky, either way it's not my business and they allow me to see this metal on the road

If they act like a cock with their car, attitude or any other facet of their life, it is my right and want to sit here and think, you sir/madam are a prick, whether they drive a fiesta, a daewoo or a Lambo or Aston

So people calling other people jealous are actually jealous themselves? hehe

Why do the Arabs come over to blighty for the summer? Serious question.

They don't drink (an art form in which us Brits excel)and even if they did there are far better bars to hang out in than street bars in London

There's nowhere to actually drive their cars properly

The weather's better in other countries

There's no nice coast line next London along which to cruise (in boat or car)

Please don't tell me they're coming all the way over here just to shag our women? Are they doing all this and simply using their cars as mating calls to our fair maidens? Or does their religion prevent them from enjoying this pastime also? Regardless, I refuse to believe they couldn't find better in this department elsewhere as well!

Why don't they all p1ss off over to Monaco / St Tropez / Puerto Banus etc?

Weather (there climate in unbearable during summer) and the fact that they are treated nicely over here compared to other European Countries.
