In the coming weeks it'll all get diluted. How many people in the pub are staying 1m apart from each other? Maybe a few did at 9am, by 9pm most won't. In 3 weeks time for the majority of regulars it will be back to how it was pre-lockdown. Only those who go in occasionally will worry about any of the covid measures.

But of course there will be narrative that a bullet was dodged rather than questioning if there ever was a bullet. The BBC was busy explaining why BLM protests caused no extra cases as they all covered up and stayed 2 meters away... Of course they did!

The government needs to learn that they can't control our lives in such a roughshod manner, and any officials who try to enforce the arbitrary dictates deserve no sympathy. "Just following orders" never cuts the mustard.

Just seen one of our drivers, he’s just come back from Penzance and said he gave up counting caravans and campers in lay bus after 100, said they nearly enough every one was full
Just out of interest are you on for LF or SJB? I do the same job (not for LF or SJB though) and might have been talking to you at Meadow at some point as we've been going in there to tip. I do all round Bowland forest and there were campers everywhere clogging up the roads today. Makes a change from cyclists I guess. They don't like getting wet.

I think you will be surprised. Despite the best attempts of a minority of the British people (most of whom will have been photographed in the pub by the Sun and the Mail today), most of them still aren't complete f*king idiots.

I don't think its that, just most people want to be relaxed in the pub. Maybe chain pubs, or town pubs might be stricter with the rules, but your country pubs where everyone knows everyone will be back to normal before the day is out. Its just the way it will be.

Our village pub is taking ID at the door (but apparently just for this weekend to stop big groups of youngsters). Poked my nose in earlier today and it was fairly dead (though they said they'd a few people in early doors). I'm about to pop down for a pint now, so it'll be interesting so to see how many are in.

Fairly busy, though probably less than an "old normal" day. Took £1153 over the bar, which is around £300 less than a usual Saturday, though might have been slightly inflated due to a group of about 8 women who came in from 5pm-9pm and drank them completely out of gin.

I stayed away today as I had other stuff to do and based on idiot level of queues for Ikea and McDonalds I thought it wise to avoid day one.

However it seems that our locals have been pretty busy and a few after parties are planned at peoples houses. Nothing on the scale of a London block party though, but it seems to me that any sense of lockdown is over.

I usually say to people, once you've had so much you start to become obnoxious, it's maybe time to drive home.

Standard for our local anyway. Three other villages within four miles with no pub. They all drive.

Just seen a news report about the first night out in Nottingham and virtually no SD whatsoever, and the typical 'fk everyone else' attitude of the pub goers, mainly under 30's at a guess.

I was out in the 'burbs of Nottingham last night. It was quite quiet.

Ditto again today. Bars and cafes that could be open are not.

If I were a bar or cafe owner I'd be opening every hour that god sent and fashioning myself a shepherd's crook with a long handle to fetch people off the street.

I get the impression that a good many people are hiding behind the sofa still.

I’m in Notts, and whilst I have no inclination of going to a pub just yet, I’m certainly not hiding behind a sofa.
I’m just heeding Samuel Pepys advice...

Let’s face it, Nottingham city centre is a bloody cesspit in the evenings, Covid or not.
