The police enabled this yesterday, when there were "a few thousand" fans outside Ibrox and (it was reported) there were no arrests. It likely emboldened many others to go today, knowing that their vast numbers meant the police would stand at the side, waiting for an old granny to sit on a bench to tell her to move along.

I share your deep dislike for the old firm, and find rangers attempts to mention 55 on every bit of communication to be desperate. Are they trying to convince themselves or everyone else? I'm beyond caring if they are the same club or a different one. Makes no odds to me.

On balance though I welcome it. Demonstrates that there are large numbers of people who are appearing day to day going along with this, but in reality are waiting for it to end to crack on it and probably aren't paying much attention to the restrictions behind the scenes.

Regardless , I suspect the SFA/SPFL will offer to stop lower league football again to atone for it, and I'm sure sturgeon will punish us all in due course.

I feel a bit dirty for saying it but the government have almost got me to the point I'll accept any little morsels of freedom they give me back from this point in.

I have to pinch myself at times to realise the dystopian nightmare that has been the last ~12 months was real.

12 months ago to the day I was down at Twickenham with 80 odd thousand others, pubs restaurants etc and now.........

Obviously that article slightly discounts that we have wiped out 100k-ish older people so there should be less people to get impacted but it doesn't change that for everyone else it's entirely possible it might be a worse winter than normal.

To me a lot of it makes sense. Looking back now, the videos coming out of China in January and February 2020 were obviously fake. I did hear something last year about fake accounts and a surge of this type of thing happening in Italy.

All I can ask is what the hell?

If these accounts were fake etc surely the government knew.

Not that I buy into the conspiracy theories, but once something like that happens it can make real groups of people shift from concern to hysteria. The media then grabs hold of it and it becomes a vicious cycle.

There was good reason for caution back in March as it was unclear how dangerous the virus could be. Then people start panic buying, the news report on all of this and it takes on a life of its own.

However, how can the CCP via fake twitter and Facebook accounts which have only been active for a few days in some instances, cannot be detected and analysed by MI6, GCHQ, the CIA etc etc... All of who have a lot more access to the raw data than "some journo" who has worked it all out in their bedroom??

Given it's a major plot line of Homeland, I can't see that "the West" would fall for it?

I think they tried to do this, as every nation does to each other all the time, but to be soundly duped doesn't add up to me. Their economic recovery is just a state of the current world affairs IMHO

Like I said, I don’t buy the conspiracy theories. Theoretically, though, even if you know that fake Twitter accounts are being used, it’s very hard to prove that it is the case. See all of the public accusations about Trump and Russian meddling it the 2016 elections. His supporters just won’t believe it.
