I'd be interested to see their crime recording criteria i.e. is it recorded for a geographic area as 'nottinghill carnival' or if they are naughty and only class the carnival as one street and any arrests etc are recorded as particular streets with no link..
A crime per victim at whatever the location is that the crime occured at - same as usual. There will be some sort of flag attached to each carnival related crime for stats purposesIf it happens a foot outside the carnival area .. it’s not carnival related ( though clearly it is)
When I went the carnival procession was of course on a set route but many streets away there was a large overspill of people static, music and partying with food stalls etc.

The boundary of the Carnival area is shown on that map
If crime happens outside that area is not in the figures
Also if it happens after the close of the carnival inside the area it’s not recorded as carnival related
I seem to recall that the cut off was very early on the Monday so that most of the shenanigans that happened after .. shutting down the sound systems/parties and dispersal from the area were not included in the crime figures as carnival was over !

SW4 festival has a capacity of 20,000 NHC sees 2.5 million give or take. In 2015, SW4 festival had 20 odd drug arrests, NHC yesterday about 41, by the media reports. And with that, another episode of the culture wars draws to a close.
2.5 million!fk me if you're going to lie, at least be realistic! Even Google estimates it at around a million. Which if it's anything like the "million Remoaner march" It'll be nearer 3-400K tops over all the days.
In terms of comparison to SW4. Can you give me a break down of the non drug possession crimes. Stabbings, assaults, sexual assaults etc
In terms of culture wars. I will avoid your race baiting. And ask a question. Why does NHC attract far more dheads (pro rata) than other festivals? Is the security better at other events?
Linkies because you know, even Google only says a million

And straight out of the PH play book, you cowardly swerved why you think it's ironic a wholly incomparable event in Clapham doesn't (according to you) make the news.
Whenever you, or any of the unthinking automata who piled in after you are ready...

Updated figures as of 10PM Monday:
353 arrests.
Which include:
162 drugs related
37 arrests for the possession of offensive weapons
37 arrests recorded for assaults on police
30 Met officers suffered minor injuries
What's your point?353 arrests.
Which include:
162 drugs related
37 arrests for the possession of offensive weapons
37 arrests recorded for assaults on police
30 Met officers suffered minor injuries
Hundreds of thousands (dare I say millions) went and had a good time, why focus on a handful of negative incidents?

There’s as much relevance in me telling you that 150k attended the Great Yorkshire Show
There were no arrests .. no crimes
There were three policemen and the only injury was a farmer slightly hurt by his prize winning bull

How many people attending the NHC actually live there? I think of the area as not very diverse population wise. High earning, predominately white, middle class types.
I've always wondered why it doesn't decamp to an area where the visitors and exhibitors wouldn't need to travel as far.
Ironically it's always on the same weekend as SW4 festival (Clapham Common) yet that event rarely features on the news.

The film Notting Hill wasn’t a documentary.
But what about Glastonbury? Standard bit of oh look a squirrel.
Someone asked for a breakdown of the figures

2 x Criminal damage
31 x Public order
34 x Offensive weapon
10 x Theft
162 x Drugs
10 x Sexual offences
5 x Robbery

Meanwhile in other news Dorset Police advertising for a social media person starting at 25k.

One witters online, the other puts their life on the line.
Still haters going to hate.

247 arrests out of 42 million attendees isn't so bad.

I would imagine if you added together all the carnivals across the land together you’d have more people attending them and I’d wager the house there wouldn’t be 350+ arrests or 10+ sexually assaulted
We should be rather grateful that there have been no deaths this year as a result of being negatively violently assaulted
Nor would the total numbers of police exceed 12000 to police them all

Like this? What jolly larks you are.
Your 2.5m figure is repeated a few times in the media, however the estimate of "over" 1m is much more prevalent for this year's event. Who to believe? Who to tease? Cold said:

But I've told you a million times to stop exaggerating.

Did you just compare a bunch of flat cap clad steam engine & sheep enthusiasts with impenetrable dialogue & a massive chip on their collective shoulders over something called 'God's own country (Wakefield, Dewsbury excluded) with the biggest West Indian street party in Europe?
Nice try.
