That rather hollow and silly argument.

What proportion of terrorist attacks in the UK have been carried out by foreigners who have travelled here to specifically carry out a terrorist attack?
a Manchester terrorist who came back from Lybia with instructions?! I'm too lazy to search but sure there are more, I know some Paris attackers came as "refugees".
And where was he from again?

why does it matter? As a UK citizen you are free to go wherever you want, but if you come back from war-torn area you are free to go there again or spend time in internment until radical islam problem is solved.

How do you know when a person is returning into the UK where they might have been when they were abroad? This chap would not have had a big stamp on his passport saying "Returning from two week's terrorist training camp, Libya".

He wouldn't even have returned directly from Libya because at the moment there are no flights between the UK and Libya. He would have come back from a "normal" non suspicious country, like Malta or Spain.

I always think it's funny that some lowly PHers thinks they know more about security matters than the professionals.

What did they know?

How dangerous did they consider him to be?

What level of surveillance was he under?

What would you do and how would you decide to allocate the available resources available?

You seem to have decided you know how to keep the country safe. Mrs May is crying out for someone like you.

In the US there are many random shootings and killings each year that are nothing to do with terrorism. I'm sure you are aware of the various acts carried out by disgruntled employees, angry men with a bee in their bonnet about something and sundry other matters that cause people to lose it.

Even a "non random" attack, such as a gang related shooting, can and does sometimes involve innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire or shot mistakenly.

Being randomly killed by a gang shooter or by a terrorist still ends up with the same result - someone dead.

Don't forget last night's efforts. He used it as a platform to justify his travel ban.
and your solution to the problem is - ?!
Not a travel ban when your attackers are British born.

Are you really that dim, or are you just sparring for a fight over nothing?
A travel ban on people from Barking would have prevented this, surely?

I am in favour of a travel ban for people from Barking. Also Romford & Dagenham. Not because of the terror threat, justhat they're stholes & obviously need containing.

Mine too. A lot of media froth followed by nothing substantial enough to hoist The Donald.

Unfortunately Comey may have to keep the really good stuff for his closed session. National security and all that. Watch for Mike Rogers testimony on Wednesday..............

Compare & contrast.

I could add similar sentiments from Merkel, Modi, any number really, but Macron's will do as a flavour. What we have here is a crass moron, incapable, in his infantile, vindictive reflex of exercising even the most basic level of international friendship standards, but still fully capable of pumping out the fake news he loves to accuse all & sundry of producing.

I would piss my pants if Khan's re-election campaign consisted entirely of Trump tweets trolling him. Either way, he's practically guaranteed a second term as mayor now & I'm yearning for Trump's London visit now, it's going to be hilarious.

Even by his own shocking standards, Trump's performance on Twitter today has been truly sickening. The lying regarding the context of the quote from Sadiq Khan is impossible to fathom and Trump is now digging himself a bigger hole.

Fake news, fake news, shouted Donald. fk off mate, you're an appalling excuse of a man who cannot even rise above using lies to exploit a freshly carried out terrorist atrocity to further your own repeatedly failing agenda.
