I wonder if the weather will come into play, peeing it down all day.
It could stop the younger Labour voters from getting out of bed.
But equally could stop the coffin dodger Tories from going out, in case they get a chill wink
It didn't stop my 93 year old neighbour who suffered a stroke a couple of months ago from getting out and voting

But then he did play rugby union for England after fighting in WW2, and when he suffered a stroke he only took 90 minutes to crawl back up his garden to the house to call himself an ambulance, so he's made of stern stuff.

but I gave him a lift up there anyway, knowing full well that he would be voting for a different party to me. smile
clap

That's what it should all be about.

Just back from voting, went for the Conservatives. Boris is a bit of an oaf but a Corbyn government genuinely scares me,

A car crashed through a wall outside a polling station in West Sussex this morning.

The crash took place outside West Ashling and Funtington District Hall in Chichester at about 09:00.

Sussex Police said no-one was injured and the station remained open for voters.

So contrary to reports all over social media, there are tory voters heading to the polls...

...while Labour-voting youngsters at the wheel not more than a year or so after passing their test remain more likely to crash on the way to vote sonar

Out of interest, has any single, solitary person changed their mind as a result of this thread?

Changing your mind as a consequence of Brexit, or May or some other previous large event doesn't count. I'm asking if anyone has read an argument on here that has changed their opinion?

Heavy rain all day? Didn't someone 6 weeks ago claim it was "going to be a nice day..."

Will all be worth it (hopefully) to see McDonnell's face tomorrow. Will the mask slip again and he'll call for civil unrest? I do detest the way he laughs when being asked a serious question before rambling on about some other fantasy Marxist utopia.

Well I'm glad to see you're all having fun going voting whilst us in Lyndsey Hoyle land have the choice of him, a bloke who has changed his surname to brexit and some salad muncher.

Pound a little lower (I'm watching against the USD) but not significantly so.

Banks are conducting there own private exit polling again so we should have an indication if these were suggesting anything conclusive either way.
GBP only dipped when Lagarde spoke (again, like most in here try and view the world a little wider than anecdotal individual experience). It trades with many factors weighing in it, I already explained it it is trading far higher than it should given rate markets increasingly pricing a BOE cut next year.

Base case scenario from many banks, Crediit Agricole being quoted is Tory majority of 20. Of course there is a lot of vol, getting it wrong today is going to be an issue. Obviously UK plc, and even team EU won't know if they are of the woods till after 10pm, during the witching hour.

If it the result doesn't go as expected (or hoped for); the UK voting public screwed the pooch. Gonna be a long night.

THere are very few arguments put forward on here. Most of it seems to be waffle on how candidates are dressed, or just pure nastiness from ilk calling people stupid for voting xyz.
I hadn't decided who I was voting for so I looked at my candidates this morning and chose off of that.

I would ask how with a Anti-Semitic party at play.

Top Trumps comes into it and that is inexcusable and unacceptable in humans. Supporting such people really is endorsing it.

Oh here we go - now everyone is crawling out of the woodwork with their fictional Tory/Brexit voting friends to try and disprove my post.
Your anecdotes are as creditworthy as anyone else's anecdote.

The problem with your anecdote/s are is that they are normally laced with insults from three years ago that Leave voters were/are racist xenophobes.

Perhaps try something a little more original (throw 'gammon' in, not seen it for 2 weeks), the reaction might be the same but at least you'll have put some effort in.

It was the Brexit party and now the Conservatives.

Thankfully as the Brexit Party is not contesting this area laugh

Maybe I'm worrying unduly, but I'm starting to get a horrible feeling that our next government is going to be a Labour / SNP coalition.

I really hope I'm wrong.

Except it isn't. In my sphere, which involves a lot of well-traveled professional people working for a variety of small, medium and large corporations - the conservative vote is where they are heading.

Only stupid people will vote for Corbyn and his band of nutters. The gullible who fall for the bullst if you like.
it is what it is, the perception is that corbyn is a nice guy and cares about the less well off people whereas johnson seems considerably less bothered

there's plenty of young people who don't have houses and figure they can never afford one, they don't feel like they have anything to lose here and just want a fairer society

that as well a socially for young people admitting you've voted tory is similar to admitting you are a pedo or something. they are despised.
