Climate change - the POLITICAL debate. Vol 3
Discussion
And realistically, in the long run, the only viable energy supply will have to be nuclear fusion (unless there is something as yet undiscovered)
Every penny spent on ineffective renewables is a penny not spent on fusion research.
Imagine what may have been achievable if funds had been directed in a more useful direction, rather than on politically motivated vanity projects.
However, I'm sure you can already imagine the squeals from certain quarters for anything involving the 'n' word (nuclear that is).

Trying to out-loon the Greens?
all i can say is thank fk the snp did not get their way with independence or we would have been back to the dark ages in no time up here . as the rest of europe pulls out of the green energy scam en masse ,why are we in the uk still funding it ? the disturbines are growing faster than grass at the moment. One wonders what proportion of the political classes would provide the correct answer to:
"In a vacuum, which of a stationary ton of lead or a stationary feather, when released from height 'h', reach ground (h=0) soonest? Credit will be provided for calculation"
(1) Ton of lead
(2) Feather
(3) Speak to advisor
(5) Both will reach h=0 simultaneously
(4) In 'climate chaos' anything can happen - but it's going to be bad - and on another matter, what about the polar bears? And also....

We haven't seen Political Review for a while.
So totally unrelated here is a link to an article damning CRF forcings with faint praise. Somehow this passed muster and got published, it must be good.

The report and therefore presumably the authorship assume there is some carbon dioxide forcing in the mix, then go on to show there's some carbon dioxide forcing in the mix. Awesome stuff.
Also the authors used aa index measures as a cosmic ray flux proxy but a certain subset is implicated in the Svensmark effect (15 GeV and above iirc) and the overall cosmic ray profile and the high energy subset profile don't always match.
Quite apart from that, and the causality problem where carbon dioxide changes have never led a temperature shift - including the modest warming from the LIA to present day - there's more at work than the CRF mechanisms of Svensmark (CRF-LLC) and Bucha (auroral oval), so other factors can and will fill the gap left by the non-existent but hand-of-man-made carbon dioxide aspect...once the corrupted artificial temperature increases have been removed from the corrupted near-surface database, of course.
Top work! AKA junkscience?

Setting the scene for backpedalling on CO2? NASA suggest that pollutants might be contributing to severe weather and changing climates, with nary a mention of tax gas:

An interesting line to take, but so far there is no increasing pattern of severe weather to explain. Also what 'severe' weather as there may be occurring within normal variarion is not caused by anything tropospherically human but phenomena such as chaotically shifting jet streams, slow-moving depressions, ocean-atmosphere coupling etc, all natural.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-3180...
"Labour MP Barry Gardiner called for action on climate change over the weekend by tweeting a heart-wrenching picture purporting to show the devastation being wrought by global warming. There was just one problem, the children in the moving picture tweeted by Barry weren’t stricken by climate change – they were young Afghans struggling to survive in the rubble of war-torn Kabul"

A tragedy and very sad for the children, but what an arse of an MP to exploit their plight as propaganda for a political hoax.http://order-order.com/2015/03/09/labour-mp-uses-w...
Meanwhile in Switzerland...
A referendum introduced by the Green Liberal Party to do away with VAT and replace it with a carbon tax was defeated with only 8% of the population voting in favour.

Direct Democracy at work. A referendum introduced by the Green Liberal Party to do away with VAT and replace it with a carbon tax was defeated with only 8% of the population voting in favour.

EU despises the idea of the electorate actually having a say in anything.
