Is it time to just disregard the troll now?

It comes to something when a nominee for the US Supreme Court isn't held accountable to the same standards as a semi-retired Rolf Harris.

you believe a PhD doesn't understand what "on behalf of" means?

Has anyone close to you ever been a victim of sexual assault? Thought not. Traumatic events like that aren't generally synonymous with ensuring totally clarity of memory. It's an extremely traumatic time for her right now, and it was traumatic for her at the time it happened. Hardly bloody rocket science, is it?

An immediate member of my family was sexually assaulted, and watching the footage I consder her representation of events believable and her responses consistent. But sure, tell yourself that she's making it up for some random political gain/moment of fame.

I don't think you realise those that go through such events really don't want to remember or recall it. Imagine having to see the face of your assaaulter every day on TV.

This whole thing has been handled utterly appallingly. There should have been a proper FBI investigation away from prying eyes. I really feel for her having to go through this.

I believe that a person being questioned in a hugely unfamiliar circumstance, infront of the worlds media who has already answered "I didn't speak to anyone in congress" might not understand a repeated question of "did anyone else speak on your behalf, or under your instruction to anyone in congress", yes.

The question is so broad as to be unanswerable. I am sure plenty of people spoke on her behalf, and there is no way for her to know honestly whether any of those conversations involved anyone in congress.

Christ you're a bore.

Her counsel confirmed that THEY paid for the polygraph "as is routine". So what does that prove/disprove then? Please explain.

Paraphrasing a point I heard made today;

Do you remember where you were and what you were doing at this time a month ago? I bet not.

Do you remember where you were and what you were doing with 9/11 happened? I bet you do.

in fact there is a thread on here about people remembering where they were on 9/11 to the minute almost.

That is how trauma works.

I am beginning to get the feeling that this whole proceeding is moot, and Kavanaugh will be admitted no matter what, and this will be used as "evidence" that Ford has made everything up.

Utterly shameful. Not shameful that the "result didn't go how I wanted", but there has been no proper investigation, because its politically inconvenient for there to be a delay while the United States investigate whether someone in one of the highest legal positions in the land is guilty of (potentially repeated) sexual assault or not.
This is the nub of it.

Whether he is guilty or not is immaterial.
These are clearly credible allegations worthy of proper investigation.

The whole thing is a farce and yet another exposure of the cess pool that is American politics.

That press conference! Good lord.
I only came here to post the above.

My god.

That press conference was staggering.

It was just an hour and 20 minutes of barely coherent drivel.

Quite incredible.

I've reported him to the mods to remove him/her from this thread. Adds nothing but provocation along with false news, lies and poor information to get a rise out of us who want to debate this subject as adults.

He's a The_Donald user, from what I've seen of it those poor sods live in a world totally divorced from reality at times.

It was a ludicrous question with no hope of the witness being able to reply with any degree of conviction as they would not have been present at other meetings. The hearing was a farce as expected with the way US politics is split down the middle, no doubt the republicans will vote for him no matter the stench that hangs over him now, going to be a long time before the swamp is drained at this rate.

why you don't single out those "false news and lies"? If you want only people who bash Trump on this thread then name it "Trump bashing thread" and get done with it, I won't enter.

fking hell he is coming off as annoyed he has gotten found out rather than upset about the accusations as someone might be.

Sounds like one of Trumps cronies. The GOP will lap it up. It comes across as awful to me. Isn’t he supposed to be bipartisan?

He blamed the Clintons FFS!

Lol he pulled out the ‘I have a black friend so I’m not racist’ card laugh
