Didn’t we have a few Brexiteers on here saying a drop in the value of the pound was a great thing when it happened after they had ‘won’
The Brexit lot change their tune according to whatever suits at the time. It's almost like they don't have a plan. Hmmmm.
A slight change in the currency is understandable that comes with uncertainty and clearly did help exports.

Np idea what this has to do with the election though?

The markets selling sterling as a result of a Lab or coalition LAB/SNP Govt will be a different matter altogether!

Does anyone really think corbyn will get in? Elections are won by appealing to the middle, everyone with anything to say in my travels is terrified of him. Nobody just says anything on social media cos they don't want to upset the pc babies.
I guess a few of us are hoping that is true.

I am not spotty, or young. I mostly do hope that you vote - any way you see fit - because, you know, democracy matters and all that.

Just make it Tory! (couldn't resist)

Now, if you had been the first and only canvasser, you would probably have persuaded me, but I just keep having visions of that Harry Enfield charactersmile.

Anyway, I've got my Barbour and scarf on, and I'm off to do my civic duty and cast my vote...

Polling was station was really busy when I voted a few mins ago, even though it was hammering it down.

Seems like people care in my safe metropolitan elite constituency.

Predictions?

I'll go with a Tory overall majority of 40-50.

I suspect that sadly I will wake up tomorrow morning with a result that I don’t want, it’s a rerun of the Brexit morning when most thought it was a given we would stay in.....

I don’t like Boris but Corbyn and his crew scare the st out of me.

FFS Abbott can’t even put a matching pair of shoes on.........

My guess is a tiny Tory majority that gradually gets eaten away during their term until they're in the exact same position they were pre election.

Huge turnouts around my local area in the south west. The brexit party vote is going to split the Cons vote badly.

Get your trousers down & your wallets out lads, there's a Corbyn alliance coming over that hill
Are there actually any seats in the South West for the Tories to gain? They seem to hold them all, in which case Brexit party not standing.
Exeter & Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport which are both Labour.

There may be a few in North Somerset (1 Lib Dem and 3 or 4 Labour) and Bristol (Labour), but that's it.

Very few BXP standing so I don't know what Sargeant Orange is currently smoking, but they're not in danger of splitting any Con vote that's important.

Apart from Brexit and Trump where big odds-on shots were overturned despite poll after poll.

I live in a st splat village, in the middle of nowhere, The polling station was busier than the pub I’m in right now. I think this is a pattern that seems to have been repeated country wide. Which doesn’t auger well, as big turn outs traditionally favour Labour.

Errrrr okay, of course you will dear!
Absolutely I will .. I’ve prepared for it for several months

All my uk assets are now in places where I can move them immediately

It’s cost me a little in lost interest, but if push comes to shove it could save me a lot in the long term

Quite. That’s what bothers me. A load of ‘Instatts’ influenced by Russian troll bots, voting for Corbyn, cos it’s “sick innit”.

No, but these weren't horse races or football matches, they were huge votes with entire countries involved that the bookies got spectacularly wrong.

If you don't think that's relevant then fair enough.

For what it's worth I think Boris is heading for a landslide win.

No it isn't.

If there was a sniff of Corbyn getting in we would below USD1.30 by now.

Turnout the unknown factor at this stage but no sense of panic from the FX markets which bodes well for a Boris majority.
Fair enough on the levels - I'm only looking at today for now on 30min ticks but we're down 0.76% just on the uncertainty alone.
Both EUR and GBP down Vs UD, and that's despite Lagardes upbeat assessment. GBP is UNDER sold, ot should be lower, it's been on a 4 day bull run.

It has to pair back next week regardless of whatever the result. Using highly liquid financial market data, but not understanding it in context is dangerous. It's also easy to risk reversal when the data looks st. Bit hard for the electorate.

Wafer thin right now, hopefully its 20, 10 is doable any less and it's a UK fail

I'd still vote LibDems a billion times over if it buried the Labour party (or the Momentum version) for good.

Squeaky bums.
