I suspect that sadly I will wake up tomorrow morning with a result that I don’t want, it’s a rerun of the Brexit morning when most thought it was a given we would stay in.....

I don’t like Boris but Corbyn and his crew scare the st out of me.

FFS Abbott can’t even put a matching pair of shoes on.........
A good bit of photoshop apparently
I think you’ll find it’s not!

I think its hedging, way to close to call now. Better to lock in a small loss tonight, than a large one tomorrow if they got it wrong. Its jittery, but there is no data either way yet. The stringers might be counting students in and out, and anecdotally I also witnessed lots at the apolling station today. But nothing concrete, yet.

I'm repeating (market trick), wish that the Lib Dems capitalised better on Remain.
Like you say, lack of data means jittery, along with the outlier poll from last night claiming a severe narrowing of the lead.

Once the vacuum is relieved around 10pm we'll get some idea of what the markets think has happened.

Yep .. house in UK sold

House in EU bought outright

Cars now owned outright and registered outside the UK apart from one which is old and not particularly valuable and the tax in the EU on it is mental because it’s got a big engine smile

What art I have is hanging on the wall .. think £500 is the most I’ve ever spent on a picture smile

The only thing I can’t control at the moment is that both my wife and I work in the UK and are paid in sterling

If the Tories get in tomorrow no worries .. I’ll reinvest in the UK

Most has gone .. there’s just some cash left

If not, I’m out smile
Let me get this straight. You’re such an advocate of Brexit that you’ve sold everything of value in the UK and then bought in the EU? How do you know what taxation or other restrictions you might face once Brexit happens? You will have no automatic right to live there.

Seems like a pretty hypocritical position to me.

Absolutely I will .. I’ve prepared for it for several months

All my uk assets are now in places where I can move them immediately

It’s cost me a little in lost interest, but if push comes to shove it could save me a lot in the long term

If you had liquid assets of any real value you’d have either dealt with this earlier, or never had to worry as risks like this can be hedged against well in advance. What are you doing with tour fixed assets? Have you sold your house? Car? Art?

That’s pretty sad, you must have an fairly empty life.
To be honest I’m amazed that there are people so attached to money that they’d go to these lengths to avoid losing any of it. Basing your whole life on a potential saving of some cash on a government that may or may not (most likely not) get in. Got no family in the UK? No roots? Nothing to stay for? Are you sure your wife would even want to leave with you if you decided to “push the button” and send it all to the Cayman Islands or Jersey or Lichtenstein or wherever?

I mean she might actually have friends and family, and might not fancy upping sticks and fking off to the arse end of nowhere with a paranoid, money-obsessed bellend who’s liquidated his entire life on the off chance of a Labour government.

Just a thought.

Anyway - at least your precious money is safe. And if you do fk off, stay there. Cheers xx

Didn’t we have a few Brexiteers on here saying a drop in the value of the pound was a great thing when it happened after they had ‘won’
The Brexit lot change their tune according to whatever suits at the time. It's almost like they don't have a plan. Hmmmm.
Just a quick question Andy, do you have a Fiat 20v Turbo? I don’t want to assume anything.
I’ve asked this same question a week or two back, no reply!

I’ve never said that, I’ve just said I don’t think Brexit is the end of the world; and I know exactly what my rights of residency and tax position is

I absolutely have a right to live both in the UK and where I am in the EU

I could really do with finding out as I’ve always fancied a Fiat Turbo 20v, but don’t want to risk having any dealings with somebody like that, whether it be in the real world or online.

I will err on the side of caution and stick with my British tat!

My life is pretty good .. I live in the village my wife grew up in amongst all her extended family and friends made over many years. It’s a very beautiful wild part of the world

It’s been voted one of the best places in the world to live recently .. came 3rd I think

And WE were moving anyway because she wanted to go home. And it’s a far far better quality of life, no M25 or District line misery for me smile

I left money in the UK to buy another property where I’m from .. I’ve held off based on the GE result. Tonight’s result will make that decision for me

You have absolutely no idea what your taxation position will be at all. None.

When / if the UK leaves the EU all of your rights / existing arrangements will be null and void unless a deal or arrangement is struck which isn’t on the cards currently. Any EU country could quite simply say “all UK citizens will be taxed double rate and all property at 50%of its value annually” and there is nothing you can do about it. Admittedly that’s extreme, but the message is clear whatever rights you think you have won’t exist as it currently stands.

So on here from what I can see people's best guesses are anywhere from a 20 seat Labour majority to a Tory landslide, which for the sake numerical accuracy I'm taking to mean more than a 50 seat Tory majority.

Safe to say the Lib Dems don't stand a chance and beyond that we really don't have a clue.
