Didn’t we have a few Brexiteers on here saying a drop in the value of the pound was a great thing when it happened after they had ‘won’
The Brexit lot change their tune according to whatever suits at the time. It's almost like they don't have a plan. Hmmmm.
Just a quick question Andy, do you have a Fiat 20v Turbo? I don’t want to assume anything.
I’ve asked this same question a week or two back, no reply!
I could really do with finding out as I’ve always fancied a Fiat Turbo 20v, but don’t want to risk having any dealings with somebody like that, whether it be in the real world or online.

I will err on the side of caution and stick with my British tat!
Off topic so I hope posters will tolerate. I wanted a Fiat Coupe 20vt years ago, but I got diverted at the time. The itch re-emerged recently and so I have taken the plunge, I will start a thread on the Alfa/Fiat/ Lancia forum .

So on here from what I can see people's best guesses are anywhere from a 20 seat Labour majority to a Tory landslide, which for the sake numerical accuracy I'm taking to mean more than a 50 seat Tory majority.

Safe to say the Lib Dems don't stand a chance and beyond that we really don't have a clue.
Week ago I said small Con majority (20ish) but hung parliament distinctly plausible, actually more than a week ago now. Still seems like a good shout.

Safe Con seat here, but polling station heaving throughout the day.

Agree with the observations that there seems to be some new names and infrequent visitors spouting hollyhocks tonight.

The usual revisionist nonsense. If I could be bothered, I'd quote the original threads.

General wisdom at the time was that the pound was over-valued, and that it just needed 'an event' to bring it down. I know a few people who were fully expecting parity with the dollar. As it was, the pound dropping was the market 'pricing in' Brexit, and the drop was one of the biggest reasons we didn't see the suggested recession, or a collapse of exports.

So yes, it was a good thing, but not for the reasons you think.

The strength of the pound is still a barometer for the perceived economic strength of the country - so yes, it going up right now is a 'good sign' because it suggests the markets don't think Corbyn is going to get the opportunity of wrecking the economy.

Please try to keep up. wink

Without further ado, here are the top places to live according to the United Nations' Human Development Report, in ascending order:

Norway
Switzerland
Australia
Ireland
Germany
Iceland
Sweden
Hong Kong
Singapore
The Netherlands
That's that settled then rolleyes my OH lived in Singapore, costs a fortune, most people can't afford anything other than a flat. It's always too hot and humid meaning going outside is almost always unpleasant.

Hong Kong, looks like nirvana on the news at the moment. Hand grenades in Malmo? Fires in Aus? Or was I not supposed to take it too literally?

Icelands great I've been, would I want to live there probably not.

I struggle to see anyone winning a majority. I reckon the Cons will bag about 310 seats and have to beg steal or borrow support from elsewhere again.

My life is pretty good .. I live in the village my wife grew up in amongst all her extended family and friends made over many years. It’s a very beautiful wild part of the world

It’s been voted one of the best places in the world to live recently .. came 3rd I think

And WE were moving anyway because she wanted to go home. And it’s a far far better quality of life, no M25 or District line misery for me smile

I left money in the UK to buy another property where I’m from .. I’ve held off based on the GE result. Tonight’s result will make that decision for me
You libe where your wife grew up amongst her family but she wants to move and go home?

Yoir description of “a beautiful part of the world” suggests outside the UK (you would say “beautiful part of the country” if inside the UK) and yet you talk as if you’re living within the UK

And I’m the one talking bks.

Get your finger on the trigger to move that money George, you might make a few billion on manipulating the whole of Sterling.

I’m with you on this. Not sure where they’re going to get it from though. The DUP won’t go anywhere near Johnson now. LibDems / SNP / Plaid Cymru come with a second (and independence) ref requirement and no other party will have enough seats, even aggregated.

Reread what I wrote ..

I live in the village my wife grew up in

It perhaps doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out she’s not British

The DUP can be bought I reckon. Their numbers aren’t enough though if I’m right about ~310

Ha ha ha. Can you hear the echo?

Did you miss the part that pointed out his chat with Owen over 3 years ago?
I 'listened' to it back then and realised he was a turncoat. As stated, why would I want to read his bias view (again)?
I don't like the Grauniad. Do you read the Wail?

Just for info, my job meant I've met all types, inc politicos, over more than 50 years, so I do have a perspective on many things.
Oh, and until recently I used to receive most of the main newspapers as a perk.
Need to know more?
You had a paper round in Westminster ?

They will go with the Cons aslong as the deal changes slighty. DUP will probably get about 8 seats, so the Cons will need about 310-312?

I don’t think that at all. I do think that all xenophobic little Ingerlanders voted to Leave, but I don’t think all Leave voters are xenophobic little Ingerlanders.
