Very unlikely I'm afraid, Tulip looks a shoe-in at this point.
thought the latest polls show a very close run thing. Is this a seat where the UKIP vote could stop the Conservatives from winning.Apparently he wants to criminalise Islamophobia. He should perhaps start by locking up all the Shias killing Sunnis and all the Sunnis killing Shias
It's the faux saintly St Francis of Assisi wide-eyed look that boils my piss and the implied suggestions in everything he says that he is good, kind, holy, and perfect. Whereas the evil Tories are the spawn of Beelzebub.

Hampstead's got a good chance of going Tory, thanks in the main to the Mansion Tax.
Ashcroft's poll in August last year had Labour on 47%, Con 30%, Lib Dem 13%, Green 6%, UKIP 2%.http://lordashcroftpolls.com/2015/01/hampstead-kil...
At the bookies Labour are 1/4 to win the seat. Con are 7/2, Lib Dem 12/1.

If that is true, then it needs to be broadcast widely. People have a negative view of Islam, owing to the actions of far too many of its adherents, simple as that. Edited by audidoody on Saturday 25th April 12:49
This is perceived "Islamophobia" in a nutshell : http://www.jesusandmo.net/2014/12/17/duty/
Untill these idiots accept that Islam IS the problem we will only see matters get worse.

Actually he said he wanted to give the hate crimes act bigger teeth.
Yes, what that means is more state control and oppression on what s like HIM, do not like to hear. Very, very dangerous. Its how states like North Kporea work, myriads of petty rules and laws to oppress the populace, especially when it comes to opinions and facts the oppressors do not like.
Although in this case it's not expanding the act, just allowing a harsher penalty to apply for those convicted.
The act's a good read and it's been useful in several convictions including Abu Hamza. Obviously, as an atheist, I'm going to say that an act offering protection from religious hatred while explicitly protecting freedom of expression is very commendable.
If I could just pin you down on this one question Cheese Mechanic, why have you taken a position denouncing an act that protects people from religious mentals and balances this against the ability to speak truthfully and criticise religion religion?

the irriationality of the school of libertarian thought that hsares a lot with 'objectivism ' The act's a good read and it's been useful in several convictions including Abu Hamza. More class war/anti free market nonsense from Miliband.

Rent rises for 11 million people living in private accommodation will be capped at the rate of inflation if Labour wins the general election on 7 May, Ed Miliband will announce on Sunday.
In a move designed to appeal to, among others, younger voters priced out of the housing market, Miliband will say that during new three-year secure tenancies, landlords will be barred from increasing rents in any one year above the level of price rises as recorded in the consumer price index.
In a first Labour Queen’s speech of a new parliament, Labour will also introduce legislation requiring landlords to disclose rents charged to their last tenants so that householders have proper information and can negotiate the best deal at the start of their contract. Rogue landlords who do not keep their housing stock up to basic standards will have their “buy to let” tax relief slashed.

But these are well thought out and modelled policies?
Just like the FUTURE price freeze for energy?
Or announcing the future sale of our hold stocks and more importantly, how much we are thinking of selling?
Oh? What's that you say? What do you mean?
Well you are obviously using traditional logic! And that's plain wrong as our friends the Greens told those financial people

Incitement verbally to violence and the direct verbal threat of violence has always , or for many years been a criminal offence. Whether that being incitement for religous reasons or any other. Basically, Hamza and the other religous nutters inciteing murder are covered by laws we have had for many, many years. What Blair did , was update laws to cover digital threats/incitement of violence and then dropped in a whole raft of petty laws to suppress opinion, a bludgeon to stifle free opinion that does not fit dictatorial politicians. I am a beleiver in freedom of speech, including abuse, taunting etc, in my mind anything goes, *except* such incitement or threat of violence. Simple as that.

That'd be interesting if interest rates and the cost of servicing the BTL mortgage climbed significantly.....
Even more interesting is that I don't normaly raise the rents in my BTL's for good tenants. Obviosly at the moment I'm free to but I don't as I would rather keep long term tenantsIf Labour bring in % caps then I'll need to bring my rents up to market rates before the caps take effect. If I don't then I'm shooting myself in the foot for any future rises.
Some of my tenants are going to see large rises, then year on year rises.

I can see Miliband's thought process now, if someone wants to try and make some money any money hit them and hit them hard.If Labour bring in % caps then I'll need to bring my rents up to market rates before the caps take effect. If I don't then I'm shooting myself in the foot for any future rises.
