I said this previously but this is what happens,

Donald gets re-elected in 2020 to be followed in 2024 by the first woman president.

Ivanka Trump!

She is already getting familiar with world leaders and the UN and will be the Republican poster girl come 2024.

This isn't an endorsement for her but i can see it happening,

I called this earlier in the thread, it could happen, the Democrats need to stop the nonsense and get serious about politics or it will

She's going to be lucky not to be in gaol in 2024, never mind winning the GoP nomination.

Honestly it's just the age thing.

I don't know enough about Sanders to have much of a view either way, seems decent enough.

My comment wasn't really about him as an individual so much as how a 78 year old can be considered the best hope for any party?

Where are all the younger people in US politics confused
Well, there is mayor Pete, but at 37 I think he might be considered too young?

Odd really, when the current White House squatter has a mental age of about 14.

Joe Biden has a money problem - perhaps Hunter could help him out?

Have you been banned from the main trump thread? There has been some discussion as to whether trump's supporters have finally started to accept they might have made a terrible misjudgement since nobody seems to be defending him there anymore.

Who is defending Trump, I am mearely pointing out the irony in your post.

He isn't a squatter, nor was Obama, Clinton, Bush or any if the others, to say so is immature, smething you accuse Trump of.

It does apoear that there is a mod that will only have anti-trump talk.
That's why it has become an echo chamber, different opinions are not allowed.

Biden's the wrong person for the Dems, to much of the establishment and hangovers of Obama.
Warren I think would be my choice, a strong woman against trump. He can't cope with those..

But it's the US politics, it's all about money, how much you raise means more TV and social media ads you can run, and with facebook not caring about truth in them, just taking the money, it's no wonder trumps campaign is investing heavily in social media targeting again.

Different opinions are allowed but it would be good to have a reasonable discussion about them, rather than the usual trolling that see's people such as yourself banned from every new thread very quickly.

I disagree. Warren has too much hanging over her regarding the Native American claims. You’re thinking about this as a Brit I think, we’ve had female prime ministers and a female monarch, Americans are very much behind the times when it comes to accepting female leadership and their politics are far dirtier. Any female candidate is going to have to be squeaky clean to stand a chance, far cleaner than any bloke would have to be, it’s not right or fair but it is what it is. If Hilary had been a bloke I think she’d have been fine even with the email and Benghazi things hanging over her but she isn’t so she lost, the Dems run the risk of handing Trump victory if he can stir up the misogyny and doubt like last time.

You've definitely got a point there, which was pointed out in 2015 when Hilary was running, is the US ready for a woman POTUS, but it's getting there. They've got Pelosi in third in charge. Warren looks like a strong candidate in the Dem camp. I'm not sure Trump/Hannity's Pocahontas name calling has much left in it now?

We've a resurgence of the sex assault claims against trump, Summer Zervos is pushing ahead with her court case which will come up next year, it could lead to a resurgence of backing for woman, a mini metoo type thing?

I largely agree with you about Biden, but that is why I think he'll be the one to challenge Trump. He's the one who is has the widest appeal amongst swing voters who are conservative but not Batst crazy (I.E. the farmers Trump has been bankrupting).

You're right about Trump not being able to handle strong women, Pelosi had thwarted him at every turn. I'd love to see Kamala Harris up against him, but I don't think it's going to happen.

The sexual assault stuff isn’t new though either. The man bragged about “grabbing them by the pussy” and still got elected. That’s how much the Republican electorate cared about the moral integrity of their candidate and subsequently president. It’s unimaginable to the rest of us but it would seem those who fear the Dems fear them enough to vote for a man who is morally bankrupt and almost certainly a criminal. It’s a mad world we live in.

Biden will be the choice of the DNC grandees, as the "same as before" candidate, indeed he has told his billionaire backers nothing will fundamentally change, so money may well talk in the nomination.

But concerning money, Sanders has the most cash, way ahead of Biden, and mostly from small donations, showing he has the popular vote. He is also the lead candidate among the young, weird considering his age, but he has the policies(student debt forgiveness, M4A, legalising pot(announced at 4.20 LOL)etc) No skeletons in his closet either.

Warren is,IMHO,Bernie-lite, would still be better than Biden.Im sure Trump will keep blasting the Pocahontas thing(and that she ran with the GOP , albeit 20+years ago)

Has Obama endorsed anyone yet?
