I've got a spare ticket going for the Sunday 29th Clarkson, Hammond and May show at the O2. It's for the 4pm show and is in block 102. Which is a very good viewing position.

I'm asking face value of £90 and the ticket will be sent by registered mail. First person to PM me through here gets it.

"Here lies the BBC career of Jeremy Clarkson who had a fracas on this spot, 4 March 2015. The rest is legend."

I stayed there last summer. It's a nice hotel in an outstanding location.

A million quid doesn't seem like all that much money for what is a fair sized place and a business.

I wonder how profitable it is, though, and whether they're selling as a going concern or just the bricks and mortar.

PRICE

£995,000 for the freehold property complete with goodwill and trade contents (according to inventory), excluding personal items. Stock at valuation.
Although it only mentions turnover (c.£770k) and not profit. What sort of margin do these types of businesses run at?

I know who the owner is, he really only keeps it because he uses it for accom for his guests during the grouse season, as he owns the adjoining moors.

We've stayed there, lovely hotel, but its been on and off the market for 3 or 4 years now.

Does seem like a hell of a lot of stone and oak for a shade under a million... and it comes with a revenue-earning (if not outright profitable) business too... if I had cash to burn...

So £100k of which no doubt half to a third would be OTs legal fees.

Was it really worth it for OT? He could have gone off piste instead and had leverage over JC instead lost his own job as TG ceased and was front line news for weeks.
Sure a tt punched him but he's have known some £ in some form or another would come his way. Principled maybe but what was the smarter option?

They don't actually say that it settled at £100k, just that the claim has been settled - it could eg have settled at less, but with the public apology as a term of the deal. Regardless of the figure, I suspect part of the deal will be that Jeremy Clarkson pays Oison Tymon's legal costs.

If I remember it right, Clarkson alerted the BBC himself. I think once that ball started rolling, there was no stopping it.

As for the legal fees, it could be entirely possible that Tymon was a member of a union which would have paid his legal costs, and the full £100k would be going to him. For the amount of abuse that went his way after it all kicked off, I don't think that is unreasonable.

What "leverage"? His only "leverage" as far as I can see was legal action, which he's done. I'm not sure what other options he had which would have given him a better outcome.

The potential legal action so let's say he swept it under the carpet in return for maybe higher involvement in certain things which I've no doubt JC could have used his influence.
Still £100k isn't a lot given it truly went viral and without question he will always be known for it.
