This thread is gaining as much popularity as this Petition on the Govt website:

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/226071

It's currently the funniest one (thread) currently on the go, and by quite some margin.

Thank you for your advice. It’s strange that there is not too much evidence based posting from you and others though.

Surely it would be easier to ignore me than waste your precious time.
You're welcome.

I've never been one to take the easy path, and I don't consider offering to help
others as wasting my time, just ask chap.

American words insinuating themselves into our language. I notice you don't even attempt to defend your incorrect spelling whilst criticising other's English.

Better get used to it in this Brave New World. American imperial units next.

Funny I posted I could not spell so please remind me where I pointed out a spelling error to someone else. Unless it was related to dbs.

Actually one of my reasons to leave was to have veg back in pounds rather than Kilos - which is strange because I grew up with decimalisation biggrin

Well sort of - I still have a small bag of proper pennies from a childhood piggy bank I rediscovered as a teenager

OK you can fill in for Robert

Can you put project plan together to enable our unemployed to be put to community service. Obviously you will need to determine which service you would like them to undertake. Robert stated it was easy but ducked every opportunity to give us his expertise so you can step in.

Could you supply me with what kind of monetary funds are available, and are you talking regional, nationwide or a specific area, is transport available?
In fact if you could manage to flesh out the bones a great deal more, I might have a stab of it.
I will also need to know the sex, health , both mental and physical and what, if any skills the presently unemployed hold. Oh, and any reasons they might not be suitable for any kind of
work that may arise. Ta.

Your’re best to chat to Robert and the poster that suggested the idea in the first place. I was the one saying it wasn’t straightforward if you read back, so I fully anticipate you are another one that has no tangible plan to assist the less fortunate to get into the workplace.

Do you guys get a buzz out of blaming everyone you can point a finger at if the world is not as you would like it.

We had a couple of chaps in our company over the years with slopey shoulders. They didn’t last long.

You don’t do much science and engineering then?

Strangely my American son in Law uses metric as many engineering / science places do in the states.

He says that the use of imperial units in the USA is just down to prejudice.

Why would it matter or is that just an attempt to get the upper hand in the debate or be-little another contribution?

I don't have a problem with metric or imperial I can use either for measurement or weight - I just objected to the EU stipulating that "pre-packed" goods must be sold in metric units. The UK Government in it's usual way deciding make "everything" the same with standardisation of units (rather than ignore them like other countries do.......)

Trouble is they didn't go all in - Pints still remain, we still record and measure distances in Miles but buy petrol in litres and yet fuel consumption figures by manufacturers are in mpg.....

We should go all metric or reject all attempts to fk around with stuff slowly - that's what annoys me with the EU approach to everything - change a little see if it sticks - change a little bit more see if it sticks

You seem to place an awful lot of weight on the opinions of relatives - I'm beginning to wonder if you can have a opinion of your own biggrin

I think it's down to the fact that everyone understands it so why fking change it - if there are other units and engineering/science places want to use them fine but it's supplemental to the country std

Does this mean I'm sacked? eek

It was you, remember, that asked me, remember, to fill in for Robert.
Now because I've put you under a bit of pressure by asking for the projects finer details
slightly quicker than you may be used to, you decide to throw a hissy fit, possibly
to conceal your own limitations.

Talking of pointing fingers, which you were, could you point out where I have blamed anyone
at all for the world being not as I like it?

See the words below, seems like you have just done exactly what you accused someone
else of a little earlier. Why would you do that Nick?

Nickgnome said:
How can you say in my world. You have no idea what my world is. Why would you say such an unsubstaitaible thing? Rather sad isn’t it that you feel the need to put words in my mouth.
Re the blokes with the slopey shoulders that didn't last long, you wasn't engaged in
the Funeral business , was you?
I can't imagine you were btw, you being such a happy, cheerful, fun loving kind of bloke.

We seem to be in agreement - I never said we could/should summon up the entire German economic system from the last 65 years and I specifically didn't mention a manufacturing-heavy economy. Nothing in your last paragraph is incompatible with my first.
Fair enough then

To get this back on topic there is a branch of the Tory party who recognise that a new economic model is required. One paper dubbed them the "new dealers". I find these politicians far more compelling than those who trot out the same tired rhetoric about tax cuts.

Ha ha ha !!

As I've said many times (I'm sorry if you don't understand English), all this waffle from you is still just a project. If you can't understand that simple concept then perhaps you have a family member who can explain it for you.

Rather than just waffling on a load of silly utopia nonsense, more relevant to Russia, you could perhaps actually get away from that computer and do something yourself to help all these others you care so much about.

By the way, what was your previous alias on PH?

Have a nice day.

Reading the last few pages of this thread is like watching a slow motion mental breakdown. How some people dont have the perspective to step back and realise how they are acting like a prize dick is beyond me.

Having read many posts of uber right-wing nonsense from yourself, you might want to look up the definition of 'irony'.
