Thank you. That was the answer I was hoping for. At least you took the trouble to provide your insight rather than resorting to derisory comments.
Fair enough! But I still don't think it was a terribly well worded question...

absolute proof there are academics suppressing knowledge in the climate science community http://climateaudit.org/2013/11/20/behind-the-sks-... nice to know robert way and his professors knew mann,s work was garbage and did nothing to halt its promotion ,an utter disgrace. robert way does come out of it better than some,as he at least appears to be practising science.
next time anyone refers you to sks ,just refer them to the above. there will be a few more interesting pieces on this in the near future as i believe brandon shollenberger has the entire contents of their secret forum on his site now.
Awesome exchange, a classic illustration as to why you shouldn't piss of statisticians in their own back yard next time anyone refers you to sks ,just refer them to the above. there will be a few more interesting pieces on this in the near future as i believe brandon shollenberger has the entire contents of their secret forum on his site now.
This really shows how bad things have got:
"...many people ascribing their final belief in climate change being assured by the HS..."
Belief?! FFS.
Firstly any need to be convinced about climate change is astonishing even in a lay audience, climate has been changing for billions of years. It's the human factor that's critical - and so to the second point.
Even if the MBH HS was accurate which it was not, there is no causation to humans established by it.
Basic science needs to be taught better in schools, causality is not a difficult concept. At which point even an Oxford PPE grad would see right through the climate fairytales to where reality is.
Meanwhile......
Do the models factor in the unknown: Sun uncharacteristically quiet in an active period

the amount of supposedly educated people that cannot see this is incredible. Basic science needs to be taught better in schools, causality is not a difficult concept. At which point even an Oxford PPE grad would see right through the climate fairytales to where reality is.

Models make inadequate use of solar irradiance, ignoring solar eruptivity altogether. A key reason being that if they included it, there would be insufficient room for mythical carbon dioxide effects, absent from real data, to be inserted.Do the models factor in the unknown: Sun uncharacteristically quiet in an active period
The article expresses surprise which is odd. This is from back in 2011 and was covered on PH at the time, and since:
http://www.universetoday.com/86643/regular-solar-c...
The caption to the graphic says "Average magnetic field strength in sunspot umbras has been steadily declining for over a decade."
It shows clearly that knowledge of the decreasing spottiness has been known for many years, and that if the trend continues thE Sun will be entirely spot-free by appeox 2022.
If you expect to be spared that long, and if the trend continues, buy Damart and candles.

Cracking piece in the Telegraph from Owen Paterson on how he was proud to have stood up to the 'Green Blob.'
Paterson said:
I received more death threats in a few months at Defra than I ever did as secretary of state for Northern Ireland. My home address was circulated worldwide with an incitement to trash it; I was burnt in effigy by Greenpeace as I was recovering from an operation to save my eyesight. But I did not set out to be popular with lobbyists and I never forgot that they were not the people I was elected to serve.
Holy strewth..!That's a bloody disgrace....
The comments though. What an unpleasant crowd the Guardian readers seem to be. No mention or censure of the death threats though. Must be standard operating procedure for that crowd.
No evidence of it being the same effigy obviously. They also seem to have forgotten that the effigy burning was recorded on Facebook. Ooops.
Greenpeace have recently been declared a “threat to national economic security” by the Indian secret service, the Intelligence Bureau. They recommended last month that Greenpeace India's right to collect funding from abroad be ended.

Of course there's the infamous "we know where you live" threats linklink2. They eventually after many attempts at defending it took it down and apologised.
But there is video evidence of violence by Greenpeas and even them using children to threaten violence although they've since also taken that video down. So that won't wash, like a fair number of the members.
But if they aren't guilty ever and don't condone violence then why don't they come out and condemn the death threats etc?

Where are French spies when you need them?....
How active are Greenpeace n France nowadays?http://www.aljazeera.com/news/europe/2011/12/20111...
Someone sent me a link to a youtube clip of Helen Caldicott; don't check her out if you have high blood pressure. Not so much a case of not all her paddles are in the water as someone broke them all and sank the boat; another fundamentalist loon who has swallowed Malthus whole, wants most of us dead and the rest of us living short miserable diseased lives in the dark.

Anti-human green zealots are proliferating at the mo, we might blame global warming but then there hasn't been any for nearly 18 years and nothing at any time causally linked to humans. Not wishing anyone any harm, perhaps the above example could demonstrate on a personal basis and long-term what she has in mind, so we get a clearer picture.

Fairly active. They drove a coach load of enviro mentalists into a nuclear power station site earlier this year. Bizarrely, the French don't have armed police at their nuclear sites like we do, which is surprising to say the least.

armed police may be one definition of the nuclear police, having a mate in the nuclear police i would say his background suggests a bit more than that.http://www.aljazeera.com/news/europe/2011/12/20111...
meanwhile, next time anyone claims antarctic temperatures are rising ,refer them to this http://chiefio.wordpress.com/2014/07/22/gistemp-wh... and ask how they actually know when the temperature readings are being taken further and further away from the coldest areas.
Ed Davey is apparently travelling the world in connection with the 2015 Carbon Outpouring fest that is billed as a "Major conference in Paris" in Late 2015.
Well, I suppose if he wants to see the world and make himself known in the industry before he ends up nowhere in the next election now it the time to do it.

There seems to be much irony in the piece though I doubt that much of it is intentional. Shukman seems not to feel a need to comment on this apparent quote in the second sentence nor the seeming acceptance of a dictatorial approach in the first.
"First, The US. Mr Davey's take is that Washington's new power station plan reflects a bolder White House prepared to use executive authority to bypass Capitol Hill.
"They are really motoring on this," he says. "
Still, at least Shukman retains some scepticism of the likelihood of a successful agreement at the end of his report.
