Do you guys get a buzz out of blaming everyone you can point a finger at if the world is not as you would like it.
Interesting comment. It seem to be you who are blaming people on behalf of the poor and downtrodden.
They can't improve their lot because of their parents, the school, the government, the police, social services, society etc. etc.
It's someone else's fault.

Yep agreed, an interesting thread has turned rather tedious over the last few pages. I'm out.
Do you think there is anything to add to it in light of Olly Robins deal sorry Mays deal ??

Back on topic, rarely do govts last more than 3 terms and however Brexit goes down, there will be a short slump and It would take a miracle for Tory’s to not be out.

I was out in London earlier tonight heard 2 guys discussing Corbyn and how he was going to make everything fairer for all

A bigger passed and asked them for a cigarette (the 2 talking guys were both smoking).

‘No mate sorry’

Felt like saying to them “how do you think you’re going to get on in a Communist state when you don’t want to share a fking smoke you stupid cun”

This is the problem with many labour supporters, many are like children who think the government is like their mum and dad, and consequently must hand them down everything they want on a plate.
When they see others who have worked hard and achieved something for themselves, they also want what that person has got, they just don't want to work hard (or even work at all) for it.
Every single labour government has f*cked the UK`s economy every single time they get into No10, because like their supporters, they think they can fling other peoples hard around in their efforts to make themselves look like the caring party, they just don't know very much about what to do when they have run out of other peoples money.
To use an a analogy, labour are like a family who move into a house (No10), and whilst there absolutely trash it, The next to move into the house are the tories (who frankly are not much better), who must not only find the cash required for every day living, but at least try somehow to also find the extra cash needed to make the house livable again. Then after a while, the labour party moves in again, and again (because it is all they know how to do) proceed to trash the house again, and so we go on, and on.
Strange how those labour politicians and labour media lovey`s etc seem to think that people should share their wealth with others, until, that is they become wealthy too, yet we don't see them giving away their salaries, so that their income is the same as the countries average.
As soon as they become wealthy, they seem to want to hang on to that wealth. Funny that?

When Labour got into power how was the economy doing, and what was the defect like? Now compare that to what it was like when they left.

The next Labour government will fk the economy. Bringing down capitalism is not a sound economic plan.

Don't worry, Diane Abbot will be there to ensure it's all run professionally.

Here's your information. From 97 Labours borrowing was pretty consistent compared to the previous Tory Government (continuing the downward trend) From 98-2002 it was significantly better. In 2008 it sky rocketed, because of the WORLDWIDE economic crisis. The one which Mervyn King stated NO government in power would avoid.

And for the record, I am no fan of the current Labour regime any more than I am of the shower of ste who are in currently. However, screeching that 'Labour always ruin the economy' is as lazy as banding about that Maggie steals kids milk and buggers Miners.

Good post.

Labour chose to invest the fruits of a growing economy into public services. That is what they do, and why they were elected.

2008 was a global crisis, and hurt the fiscal position of all governments, whether run by centre left or centre right parties.

The subsequent response of austerity in the UK was a political decision. Other options were available.

Agreed. However as Pistonheads is predominantly full of right-wingers you won't get very far with that POV.

I've voted for all three parties over the years however I do think the current Labour frontbench is the worst since Kinnock's lot (and probably worst than them tbh). The only crumb of comfort for me is that staunch Labour voters (like my parents who are in their 80's) say they cannot vote for Corbyn.

However, the current government are so useless perhaps Corbyn is inevitable. Joy.

If Corbyn gets in it won't be your parents generation who vote him in, it will be the under 35's.

The acid test is simple - give some examples of when Labour got into power - and when they left how much the economy improved.

Giving money to pfi companies to hide abroad in the Cayman Islands is not 'investment' . Neither is fabricating public sector jobs with good pensions that we are still paying for. What 'other' options were available then? In 2010 afaicr, labours spending plans were indentical to the tories. They also printed £200 billion QE to pay the deficit off for that year, which is deffered taxation.
