Perhaps, but the shooter at the island (which is btw caught now) is reported to look like an ethnic Norwegian/western.
Did he have more than a fistful of beard? That's the key information we need.

I don't know if that's true but I've ceased being surprised by the actions of these degenerate primitives.
You always get a few loonies claiming responsibility, most of them are hardly credible.

You wonder how many more attacks Europe will have to endure before politicians see sense and change an asylum system, and a European Convention on Human Rights, not fit for the challenges faced in the 21st century from these bearded loons.
I'm not sure removing rights are the best way to go aout tackling the problem. What they need to simp,y do is boot out anyone preaching, or acting on these extremist views, be it prison, or deportation. They are entitled to a religious view, but not one that impinges on the safety of other people in the community.
And if they have family here? (and hence cannot be deported due to the right to family life) or are in danger of breaking a nail if they return home (risk of oppression) and so forth. Also, under the current system, mass immigration cannot be effectively stopped due to family reunions (again right to family life)

European politicians need to wake up and see the existential threat western europe faces.
Hence the prison option. If they are foreign, send them packing. If they are British, do em for inciting racial hatred, etc. The issue here is free speech, and who can say what, and if that has safety issues for others. It's a difficult one to sort out.

Rightwing extremists I think. There's a nasty undercurrent of it across Scandinavia.

Perhaps, but we now have a warning in Polish (we have had problems with far out right wing people coming from Estern Europe into the country), a Norwegian looking attacker and targeting a left wing political youth camp. It don't sound to me like what I would except a muslim organization to do, even though I would love to blame another country for this st.

Of course, but claiming responsibility for a thing like this is almost as sick as doing it in the first place.

This is really tragic, and looks lke the work of right wing extremists. Chatting to a few swedish friends in the past it seems right wing extremism is not unknown at all over there, and has caused problems in the past.

It has been, however instructive and disturbing to see the views of some of the posters around here.

If I were you I would take that Swedish talk with a large packet of salt, anything right of Mao is considered right wing extremism here.

Hope they get to the bottom of this and are able to nail those responsible.

Whilst obviously not linked to this, the event has reminded me of the Black Metal goings on in the early 90s and the far right wing undercurrent that was bubbling away at the time.

"At the arrest of Vikernes, the police found 150 kg of explosives and 3,000 rounds of ammunition in Vikernes' home.[28] According to Encyclopedia of White Power, Vikernes has stated that these explosives were "intended to blow up Blitz House, the radical leftist and anarchist enclave in Oslo",[16] a plan which "was reportedly on the verge of execution"[16] and only prevented by Vikernes' arrest."

Now Varg was quite obviously a nutjob, but he was a nutjob in possession of 150kgs of explosive and a lot of bullets at one point, so there's always the possibility it was a Tim McVeigh sort of attack.

Not sure about Sky's assertion that you'd die in 3 minutes in Oslo fjord in July!

Eyewitness Andre Scheie told Norwegian broadcaster NRK that he saw 20 to 25 bodies.

"There are very many dead by the shore ... there are about 20-25 dead." He said he also saw dead people in the water.

I personally in the highly charged hours following these types of events would hold comment until (some) facts emerge, and not go jumping to conclusions quite just yet about our brothers of the religeon of peace.

Following this it does seem to have a political, rather than religeous tone to it.

where is that area, where the bomb is? not near the Radhus/Aker Brygge/Nobel places then?

edit: just seen, bit further north-east

I would have thought that would have been the ideal target, from an international muslamic type view

Red arrow is Aker Brygge, red ring is the bombings.
