Welfare bill consumes 1/3 of all public spending...

yikes

I knew it was a lot, but I didn't realise it was *that* far out of control!

And it's not theft, it's perfectly legal.

Buying tobacco from europe is not illegal.

If I could easily buy cheap petrol from europe I would do that too, but geographically I cant.

So...
Enterprise zones all over the UK = change of public sector vs pvt sector employment ratio = good

Tax support for film, video games, animation = new young talent having long term jobs = media studies and creative studies finally having some use = good

Support for UK industrial base in oil, aviation, design, pharma = more investment and high skilled jobs = good

Operational allowance, council tax relief and housing investment for the armed forces = good

Train line electrification in the north = better infrastructure = good

So far the idea of supporting business to better the competitiveness in a broke country is looking OK.

Now for the tax adjustments

12.56 Mr Osborne will introduce a £3bn "field allowance" to open up new oil fields in the North Sea near the Shetlands.

How would this look if Scotland becomes independant? Hopefully, the Shetlands remain the Britsh if they vote to remain British, breaking them away from Scotland.

Tax statements - I've been banging on about that for years.

Shining a light on what various things are actually costing people is going to make a big political difference, IMO.

A cynic may say he is raping the previously untapped oil fields pre-independence to mitigate future losses?

Stupid comment about Shetland remaining British.
