To be fair it was there a couple of months back and didnt look too out of place, yellow car in a village of honey yellow cottages

Does the guy with the yellow coat get banned too

The main problem is that he seems to be the only one with a car - where does the rest of the village park?

I'd chip in. What sort of sanctimonious prick thinks it's OK to bully an 82 year old man over his choice of car?!
Well, quite. I hope Mr. Maddox does end up with a lime -green photo-bombing-horror he thoroughly enjoys driving. Chap should buy a Muira ...

Thinking of which - I liked the comment in the original Wail article that pointed-out the view is spoilt far more by waves of selfie-taking-self-aggrandising&entitled-tourists....

The original article says that those in the cottages have a car park.

There is a bit of parking space for the locals.

Whenever I've been for a spot of lunch @ The Swan (and very nice too) the place is full of Japanese tourist buses. Some of the locals have signs on their garden gates advising private property with a Japanese translation.

ETA

It takes some proper maneuvering and driving to get the car there, accessed from "Awkward Hill" tight twisty with 1 in 4 sections between the houses. I wouldn't want to be doing it on a regular basis.

That scaffolding is an eyesore that ruins the photo. How dare someone repair their property!

They've tried to tone it down by wrapping it in yellow

What kind of wker thinks that their photographs of someone else's house outweigh the rights of the resident's choice of car? It's a tidy, small car. Any car on those photos would look wrong. Have they not heard of photoshop, the stupid s?!!!!

It's probably the usual issue with street parking. Everyone else has tried to keep their village looking tidy by hiding their cars away and to them this guy is offering two fingers by parking a bright yellow car (or soon to be lime green) in pole position.
If he needs to park it there what type of car would fit in?

Stunned that the chap should have been victimised by prats wanting a " special" photograph to the extent of his car being destroyed.
This makes me very angry, it's not just the car, it's the effect it will have on the old man trying to have a peaceful retirement and see his days out quietly in the countryside.
Massive PH meet preferably on the busiest day of the "tourist" season.

Am I missing some time traveling story here ?

This PH thread started in Jan 2015. The Daily Mail linked story is also from Jan 2015 (obviously).

Now 2 years on it gets a new post on PH and everyone thinks it's a new story.

But even more odd is the BBC have picked up on it today as if it's just happened :http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-38867290
