Her political affiliation is irrelevant. I am not, and (under its current leadership) am unlikely to be, a Labour voter, but previously had a lot of time for Baroness Lawrence. This comment is ill-judged and, I would say, somewhat out of character (reaches for tin foil hat).

The worrying thing is there are still hundreds of tower blocks in the UK that have the same cladding on them which the building owners are dragging their heels to replace.

Their is no logic behind Doreen Lawrence's comments or Channel 4 decision to broadcast them. It looks like an attempt to court controversy and sow division.
