Well I'm scheduled to go sailing this afternoon which could be exciting. It's now practically dark and the sky is dark yellow here (Dorset) but the wind isn't anything to write home about yet.
I'd probably give it a miss today...

Definitely getting more windy here in Co. Down, but otherwise just sunny and showery as usual. I work in a school so no work today as everything closed. Kids are happy!

Reasonable amount of tree damage happening down south. Pretty sure the wind won't stop at the border so likely the north will get some damage too.

I Gave my grandmother a ring, the storm is heading her way in the next hour or so and i asked her what she was doing to prepare for it.

"I've taken the washing in" was her response.

Good girl. thumbup Tell her to get a kettle boiled before the power lines come down and I think she's about fully prepared.

Was reading on the BBC about the red sun, but everything has gone yellow here. Very, very odd.

Meanwhile, on the Fylde Coast, the yellow haze has just vanished and it's now clear skies and sun.

Saharan dust and forest fire smoke apparently.

Strangely it’s just gone a little cooler here.

Still orange though.

Here in deepest Croydon it's bloody hot and humid, 21 degrees and a bit of a hot wind rustling the tops of the trees.

Gone from a yellowish misty cloud cover to big dark fast moving clouds here in Pompey. Getting slightly breezy but nothing much, just dark and looks like it is going to persist down any moment.

Very odd in MK (more than normal!). Bit blowly, sky is hazy and a funny colour. Feels really warm though, much warmer than it looks like it should be!
