I did wonder when I heard of an explosion in Leicester, that the fellow had finally exploded with a shower of sh*t destroying several buildings in the fallout!

I was sadly misinformed?

No room, surely?

Jokes aside, I just read an article on faecal impaction and it's actually potentially very severe; it can even be fatal in extreme cases eek

Must be the consistency of Lignum vitae by now - perhaps a good logistics company might have a remedy for dispersion.

Erm, someone's going to have to explain this to me in short sentences 'cos I is being fick.

Man is arrested on suspicion of swallowing drugs.

Man is held for 47 days waiting for the evidence to appear.

Man is released without charge despite not having poo'd.

Am I the only one who is struggling to understand this?

Probably thought he has suffered enough and done his time or they finally admitted they had nothing to go on and best dump the case.

The linked article says he was rearrested but on a slightly different charge, so it's not like he's scot free yet.

Initially the arrest was for "possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and driving matters"
Now it is for "suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug" and on that charge he was released on bail (to the hospital).

So either someone in the police/CPS has decided it wouldn't look so good if the arrest for the first charge actually caused him to die. Or some new evidence has become available that will mean the new slightly different charge will stick and they're happy enough to get him on that?

The article says he's released on bail.

Perhaps it's no more complicated than the potential evidential benefits are now outweighed by the medical risk.

I'm not sure about the charging / discontinuing the article talks of, but it could have had an impact on the decision to bail, too.
