Nope, but causing a Breach of the Peace is a criminal offence.

I suspect he'll have changed his tune.
Sorry but I have to disagree- he probably believes it even more now than he did then.
If he does, how does that change any of the point about it being wrong?

Call him out on it, no issue there.

This may have already been mentioned but those haranguing Soubry and calling her a Nazi are supposed to be right wing extremists. Now unless I’ve got this very wrong I’d have thought they’re more likely to call her a Commie rather than praise her. None of it adds up. Methinks Momentum is at work. confused

Nothing would surprise me these days.

I don't care whether they're left, right, up, down, in or out.

It's yob mentality & we'd all be better off if it wasn't manifest.

And as a result the Speaker has contacted the Met.

We'll see if the Met stand by their inaction.
but the public order offence is for action when its occurring now not for historic things. I fully understand what you are saying but disagree with the threshold being put forward as being worthy of a criminal offence and police involvement.
I just think these strong feelings (on any side of a debate, about any subject) should NOT degrade either into insults or to worse things like jostling, pushing, punching etc.

It's not a life and death debate, I do not know why feelings are so strong.

Quite right , I've only briefly looked at what happened, (or rather the edited version of such) but considering the apparent insults, it seems the Nazi tag is far more likely to be applied to her by left wing extremists for being a Conservative MP full stop, as against her being a remain MP.

The far left are Leavers, they see it as a boys club full of fat cats and Prussians. That's the corner Corbyn has put himself in - his Momentum chums want out - several such as Dennis Skinner are on the record about this, but he's unable to mount a decent opposition to the Tories because of this.

Those harassing Soubry are on the record as being a far right group, with links to Tommy Robinson's mob.

By all means demonstrate against the political stance of an MP, on either side, but intimidation, threats of violence, getting up close and personal as they try to go about their day is infantile. It's actually disgusting to watch.

This applies no matter what party they might happen to be in - we should be better than that.

The irony of also shouting "Nazi" and claiming free speech while harassing someone who is equally exercising their free speech seems to be lost on our cranially challenged chums.

Good work by PH posters here. In roughly two pages this whole thing has been turned into a left-wing attack on a Tory MP, with the distinct possibility of Momentum being behind it.

That some posters seem incapable of accepting that anything 'bad' coming from their 'side' genuinely comes from their 'side', or that their 'side' is capable of doing 'bad' things at all.

Examples would include 'Thomas Mair never shouted "Britain First"', 'the Nazis were socialists' and 'anyone who calls someone a Nazi must be left-wing'.
