"Insulate Britain" - I took this to be an offshoot of the 'Brexit' Partysmile
I read it as "Insult Britain", and assumed it was remoaners.

Let’s hope people just drag them out of the way and get on with their day. Although, you would expect police to do that.

What confuses me is why you seemingly support law-breaking by those whose role is to uphold the law.
So did you a few weeks ago, you wouldn't shop a family member even if you knew they were participating in illegal activities. Pot, kettle much?

Don't worry, one policeman has turned up to ask them very politely if they wouldn't mind moving

The tts should be removed for their own safety, let alone for blocking a motorway
Leave them alone with a few lorry drivers should have it sorted in no time....

So is this country honestly going to grind to a halt because a handful of middle class people who live in big houses and are independently wealthy decide to sit on the motorway day after day?

Stopping people who are not in such a privileged position as them getting to work to earn money to feed their families.

I cannot understand how this nonsense is not just nipped in the bud and the whole lot of them thrown in the back of a police van.

Exactly, surely there is an existing health and safety law that can be applied here?

Anyone sitting in the motorway needs to be removed for their own safety as quickly as possible - if lorry or car drivers can assist in this effort then this should be encouraged wink

Because we are so woke these days & don’t want to offend anyone. God help us if there was a war, we would have to get the enemy to sign a disclaimer before we shot at them.

To be fair it looks like a traffic officer who are usually single crewed. He was polite though.

Luckily backup soon arrived. Who made sure the protesters weren't any discomfort, if they had any questions or if there was anything they could do to assist them.

That little speech with "joke thrown in" was unbelievably painful to even listen to. I'm suspecting that was deliberate for the cameras/media?

How are these people not being dragged off the motorway?

Thank the lord I don't commute around the M25 anymore.......South Mimms was enough of a ball-ache without these clowns.

What happened to getting the truncheons out and cracking some skulls? banghead

Or do the police only care about someone walking too far away from their homes and breaching lockdown or saying something hurtful on the internet?

It's domestic terrorism.

I compare the police actions in this issue to the recent busker playing music in a park. How many police jumped on him, five IIRC, handcuffs used, bloodied the buskers face in a totally OTT series of actions. Hmmmmm!

What next, sitting on train lines to protest..

The police should give them 2 mins to get up and off the road and treat them like terrorists if they don't

I bet if someone drove away from here at 1mph over the speed limit the police would be all over it (lol).

But that speech was pathetic. Discussing whether or not they should be arrested? just arrest them. They're causing a danger, and let's be honest, if they want support this is not the right way to do it. People have have little sympathy for groups who cause massive disruption to their lives.

Fuel blockages / protests were made illegal by the Government - why aren't these?

Can we politely ask if we can borrow half a dozen Spanish police officers? They'd solve our little domestic terrorism problem fairly promptly.

It's mad that we grant people such power to ruin the days of tens of thousands (and maybe the whole lives of a few, stuck either in, or waiting for an ambulance)
