As someone who works on the Tube, that’s a huge no no.

Someone will be having a very awkward conversation on Monday where biscuits will definitely not be served.

He's so in the st.

He knows the rules and would know that it was completely unacceptable.

Assuming all he said was Free Palestine - is it really a Police matter? TFL disciplinary, maybe

Potentially a public order act § 5, causing alarm or distress to any Jewish passengers. Sackable by TfL for gross misconduct all day long.

1)A person is guilty of an offence if he—
(a)uses threatening [F1or abusive] words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b)displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening [F1or abusive],within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.

Stretching it if you ask me for an offence
There was a free Palestine march on - he was egging it on. Not specifically saying anything negative about Jews
BTW I've seen Jews on these marches as well...

Hmmm..the offender should be within the sight and hearing of those likely to be offended. If hes sat in his cab out of earshot away from all the passengers then I doubt the public order offence will be made out. Different if he'd walked through the carriages shouting out the message Same reason you cant commit a public order offence by speech or behaviour on on TV.

FWiW, there is a TikTokker/Instagrammer who uses the Tube for content. He has a concealed loudspeaker which can sometimes sound similar to the official announcements. He pokes fun at other passengers about what they're wearing, eating, reading etc. He did manage to confuse some American visitors a while ago by insinuating they were being banned from the platform.

So perhaps this wasn't an announcement made by the driver/staff member.

I doubt its threatening behaviour either...plus the carriage were saying it as well - so are they all going to be nicked?

The most the officer should have done was visit, let him know somebody's moaned about the flag, tell him he's doing nothing wrong and they'll let the caller know that..and leave.

Agree -it was obvious he didn't want to be there so was a bit confused as to why he was going around in circles.

Surely it's a fake

If not....

Gonna call up a friend in Australia

And order in some bush tucker snacks

And dance here with you to the didgeridoo

And listen while you sing me all the maps

Is that a foghorn in the distance

Are we heading for the rocks

Come sit here by the fireside and hold me in your arms

And tell me, how was life before the cops

Why? Both he and the policeman stayed calm and conversational. Fair play to them both.

You can just tell the guy is an absolute moron. Does he really think someone is Gaza is going to sleep more cosy knowing he is flying a flag outside his house. It is obvious he is doing it to p@ss off the nieghbours.

Presumably you have no problems with people removing the missing posters of Israelis - on the basis that they won't be turning up in the UK.

Bizarre indeed.

Some pandering going there, and I don't think it involves Vauxhall Astras or Chi-Chi and Ling-Ling.

or a bunch of posters and twitter warriors with no knowledge of the middle east, or arabic, jumping up and down everytime they see a flag with the shahada on it or someone shouting praise be to god.
