Therin lies the rub doesn't it. The bulk of the sweeping statements made all over this thread are on the perception that this is the norm.

Simple Question :
Do you believe this is a typical Hunt ?
Do you believe a hunt is required?

"required" - I am unsure.

However, your avoiding the question does not alter the curiosity I have.

So - again. Simple Question :
Do you believe this is a typical Hunt ?
I couldn't care less if it was or not. Many examples of illegal hunts are 'out there'. Many examples of legal hunts are out there.
My point was, to some, it's such an entertaining event, they don't care even if it is banned.

Do you condone such actions?

Shall we talk about the other points I raised, too?

Show her standing over dogs, watching an exhausted fox she helped catch, get torn to pieces whilst wearing the nurses uniform.

Guess what the answer would be for many, then.

So you must also want to cover all the excuses used for hunting and then discuss whether they are BS or not?

I'm up for that.

Where do you want to start?

What would you like to know?

Are you talking of questions relating to dress? The point which many keep asking me about as a diversionary tactic because they don't want to talk about other points raised?

I think they look and act like tts. How much more clear can I be?

The best way to apparently keep fox numbers down (not that anyone knows if we need to apparently) is to stage such an event and dress up?

You really beileve that?

You could wear your finest Savile Row suit and I would still suggest you look like a tt and that you were doing something ttish.

So, do you want to discuss other points?

having to go into a Chicken Run and clean up after a Fox has just destroyed them for fun not for food isn't much fun.
A common misconception "They kill for fun". Think about that for a moment..
They are popping out for a bit of fun..

The truth is, if undisturbed, they will kill as much as they can with a view to coming back to collect and store the rest of their kills.
They are used to prey fleeing in the wild, so to have everything on a plate as it were is a golden opportunity.

They usually take away a single kill and come back. Of course, they then run the risk of being shot in the face by those not able to protect chickens when they do.

Paddy_N_Murphys gears should be seriously grinding now!!

Vermin? Nope..
Kill for fun? Nope..

I agree with your analysis of how they kill and I also agree that hunting foxes with hounds is unnecessary, being sport rather than population control

However if we accept the dictionary definition of vermin as

Wild animals which are believed to be harmful to crops, farm animals, or game, or which carry disease, e.g. rodents.

Then as foxes can undoubtedly be harmful to farm animals then it is fair to call them vermin.

They could be, if you are unsure of how to protect farm animals.

The truth is, almost all of the excuses used here for those who see no problem with hunting will have been used by all those who lost their court cases due to hunting.

In other words, it's almost always complete tosh.

I am curious to know why, when I post factual links, I am told it's misinformation, yet completely made up suggestions are left unchallenged?

I am not questioning your position on hunting with hounds.
I am questioning your position on other methods of killing foxes.

Since getting Alpacas we haven't had an issue with foxes, but prior to that they were a serious nuisance.

I can understand that someone would take a position that no animal should be killed for the convenience of humans - is that what you are saying?

I am not sure it's a credible solution but I am sure that death by Alpaca is worse than death by bullet in face.

Are you against the killing of all animals and/or the killing of animals for meat and/or the killing of animals for sport and/or the exploitation of animals for any of their "product"?

I'm against people making crap up to justify gun fetishes, breaking the law (or not) to tear animals to pieces with more crap excuses and creating such environments when there are not enough things to kill.

I think they call it being a nice person.

Maybe start asking those who blow animals faces off at invited functions and enjoy watching dogs tear exhausted animals to pieces what their thoughts are?

Ok
So against hunting with hounds
Against shooting for sport
Ok with legitimate shooting/killing for pest/vermin control

Ok with Kentucky fried chicken and leather shoes.

Position understood finally.

I still don't get the Lenny McLean reference.
