Cannot figure Boris out other than he thinks he is still in the play ground or this is the plan to wreck his plan. Wind up the people that he needs. If that makes sense.

Boris’ plan is to win the GE. Boris does not care whether the QS is voted through or down, he wins both ways. In getting the opposition to vote down the QS is part of that people v Parliament plan and election campaign. Boris can then legitimately and factually claim that Labour voted against NHS improvements etc. and Labour (and other opposition parties) are then immediately on the back foot and forced to defend.

It's a good strategy

Maybe. I can see that.

For my money, the optimum strategy for Labour would be to change leader not long before the election, promise everything to all people and hope that nobody notices the new leader is a grade A moron and/or Marxist.
I think they did that last time

I can see her point but how much does a few costumes and People really cost to put it on? Or am I missing something?

Just seems to like a slap in the face to hundreds of years of our history which most people are quite happy still exist. Should we flatten the Tower of London as it’s a symbol of our terrible history? I’m sure most country’s have this kind of displays of history and wealth.

Did this sort of thing come out of MPS before Corbyn?
What struck me from her tweet, is that she claims 14 MILLION people are in poverty in this country.

DId she pull that out of her hole because it certainly sounds like it!

Also her expenses alone would pull a fair few of those 14 million out of poverty.

Poverty is defined as anyone below 60% of average income. So anyone in benefit assuming sole income. Perhaps ask the question, why so many in benefits. We aren’t short of jobs. Not yet

Put into context anyone earning less than 7.50 per hour of which there are plenty but any benefit is way less and skews the results

Benefits are now a lifestyle choice because they're too high.

Rather than a safety net, it's now an income, pumping out kids is now a career move.

You’re a few years late to the party trotting out your rancid bile as usual and calling kids who had no choice as to their parents choices ‘s’. What a piece of work you are and you’re not even right about the benefits lifestyle. It’s much much harder now. Anyway I’m sure you’re not worth half of some of them.

Also intergenerational worklessness is very low so even if someone makes a career of banging out loads of kids, those kids will end up paying tax and your pension and NHS bill in your old age.

changinged post. Ok, if true, I stand corrected. Not my experience before, but maybe the recent Governments have started to get a grip.

I still see far too many bingo-winged hippos with dadless feral kids.

Over 50% of the working age population pay zero net tax in a given year.

That rises to 80% that do not make a net tax contribution over their lifetimes.

We've created a ridiculous ponzi scheme of expectation that others will be the ones covering the costs of our 'rights'.

In work benefits and the ludicrous living wage have created all kinds of accidental effects.

That £100k staffing costs includes a load of cash for employing her boyfriend, rages about equality and opportunity, yet I never saw that job advertised.

Labour MP has just resigned and gone independent stating the reason why as she cannot possibly accept a situation whereby Corbyn becomes PM.

Who? Surely they would have a better chance if they did this after an election. They’ll just be deselected now and I’d say very few mps are well known / liked enough to stand against the big parties. Very few independents in HOC
