Oh the irony. Rabid trump supporter sends pipe bombs to further the ‘cause’.

He gets labelled a democrate stooge as a result.

Trump will pardon him.

Maybe give him a job at the White House.

Or a place on the Supreme Court.

Or perhaps allow him to join Barron in a civil partnership to bring him into the family circle...

Based on Wray’s remarks, the FBI had identified Sayoc by late last night. Surely they briefed the WH immediately. Might explain Trump’s losing it on Twitter at 3:14 am.

The #falseflag in Twitter shows there some very thick people around. Conspiracy theorists galore.

... who probably won't be given the slightest pause by this arrest. 55 years since JFK was shot, and that's still "open for discussion".

DNA evidence was indeed mentioned in the press.

We keep wondering if a low point has been reached, and so far we just have to keep adjusting ever downwards. I think today’s tweet referring to ‘bomb stuff’ annoyingly taking up media attention was extraordinarily disgusting, even for trump.

Imagine how it would feel to be a mail worker who handled one of these packages, or to be someone working as part of the bomb disposal team. There are folks who have been in fear for their very lives over the last few days, not to mention the former presidents and other prominent people who were the intended victims.

When the USA comes to its senses it will be interesting to see what remains of the Republican party. Certainly, it seems likely that enablers of this moron will not be looked on favourably in the generations to come.

With the polarisation of the US atm, it could easily have been a Democrat with the opposite set of stickers.
One day it probably will be. Let's not presume this means anything whatsoever.

Someone trying to blow up former US presidents is something.

I dunno. It's been a long day.
I guess it I mean whoever it turned out to be would have been grist for the mill for both sides. We are beyond reason here. What looks like a slam dunk, will be twisted into 'well I'm not so sure' within 24 hrs.
It's the end of news.

Except all recent significant US domestic terrorist attacks (excluding radical Islamists) have involved white-supremacist/gun-rights/anti-abortion wackjobs. Oklahoma City, Charleston Church, Olympic Park...

This *is* just a solitary nutter, as far as we now. But it's a nutter that's been led by the nose to these acts by Trump's rhetoric. and that is significant.

It's not significant because at some point in USA someone was going to do something. It's a big country.
Regardless of the facts, each side will use it as justification for something or other, reinforced by whatever doubkethink Trump utters.
If its significant, something will be affected or changed.
This will change nothing - only continue to reinforce each sides position.

Yes frown

I could argue that wasn't a "terrorist" incident, but yeah, there are nutters on both sides, like the Trump Jr 'white powder' thing.

I agree that this could have come from a nutter from any political extreme, I think the difference here is that we have a ‘president' who actively encourages violence and riles up stupid people in such an obvious way. ‘Will you do me a favour, will you punch him in the head’, ‘I will pay your legal bills’ etc etc etc. trump very much has to take some responsibility for this.

My concern is it is only going to get worse, and it will take many years to rebuild the USA after the trump disaster. Whilst I think having a bowl of sand as president would be in improvement on this fkwit, I really do hope that whoever succeeds the orange turd has the interests of the USA, rather than themselves, at heart.
