Or it could be more than 39bn.
It could? The text you quoted said 'up to'.

Do you know more than the NAO Chief....?! biggrin
Nope, I most definitely don't know more than, well, I'd imagine, anyone at NAO.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/apr/20/b...

My comment was from memory, as I remember reading somewhere about it. The link above is the first one that came up in google. (I personally don't think that the payment will exceed 39bn, and wouldn't be surprised if it is less).

IIRC NAO was in charge of assessing the "reasonableness" of the figure. The other point that still stands is that it's still nothing to do with the future trade agreement and that NAO Chief is infinitely more qualified that, pretty much everyone on this forum.
No disagreement there.
Don't make the habit out of that, it's disorientating.

No long list of other FTAs then, are you admitting there is only one?...…. but it seems I am the stupid one.... for someone who is as pernickety as you I would have thought what an agreement is called is important.....
Here, as you are to lazy to look for yourself.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union_free_...
Oh dear … did you just google EU FTAs and post the link? or did you actually read the link you posted...either way the Wiki link is inaccurate so you may be better using the EUs own site it may well be more accurate...
http://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/countries-and-reg...
If you scroll down the list of "agreements" you will notice the ONLY FTA is with south Korea....

When most of us refer the FTA we would also include trade agreement. Fully free trade agreements such as the one the EU has with Korea are rare.

Disingenuous or just thick?

Those agreements include agreements under which the other party is in the Single Market, i.e. vastly better than an FTA. Saying the EU only has one ‘free trade agreement’ is deeply misleading.

Independent Commission on Referendums, a cross party panel has reported that "A £9.3m pro-EU publicity blitz by David Cameron's government in the run-up to the Brexit referendum gave the Remain side an unfair advantage, the like of which should be outlawed in future votes."

I think this needs to be filed in the 'No st Sherlock' section.

Which of course is nonsense
Most ex-commonwealth countries clamour to get trade deals with the EU & put in a great deal of effort to do so.
They would rather be like UK 2018 than potential UK 2025 (if soft Brexit happens by then)

? They do?

These would be the ex-Commonwealth countries such as Canada which lambasted the EU over the trade negotiations and eventually gave a "take it or leave" ultimatum to the EU after a Walloon village threatened to torpedo the deal?
Or New Zealand which has and continues to cry foul of EU trade practices on meat farming, esp lamb?
Or Australia.
Or South Africa.

Those ex-Commonwealth countries yes?
