You might remember that I tried to start such a thread towards the end of last year - the introduction proposed that there should no no insults, just posts explaining one’s own opinion etc, hoping that it would somehow be ‘self-policing’.

Laughably, the mods took it down within minutes because “we don’t want that sort of thread” (or words to that effect)!
This I do not understand - it makes no sense?

Well in the context of other threads I've started biggrin

Yeah partly because of a dysfunctional search facility biggrin Still best not mention that too much or the thread will end up in website feedback

You are correct - I'm sorry if I incorrectly attributed something that wasn't true

Brexiteer hate figures/enemies of the people/traitors/saboteurs:

  • British judges in British courts
  • British politicians who vote the wrong way
  • British citizens who vote the wrong way
  • British citizens who ensure the government plays by the rules
  • British civil servants working on their behalf at the Department for Exiting the European Union
  • The British House of Lords
  • The Bank of England
  • The British Broadcasting Corporation
  • The British Treasury
  • British business leaders
  • British economists
  • British universities
When are they going to just hold their hands up and admit that they hate Britain?

He's right though. All those groups have been attacked and vilified by Brexiteers and their High Priests in the media. Always good to be reminded who it is that's on your side.

Mx5nut certainly is right and he hasn't even mentioned the EU. Just think how wonderful life is going to be when they have the whole world to blame.

At least some of the PH leavers are making the effort to try and moderate their own threads.

It's a funny old world for some and wc98 has summed it up perfectly by saying "I have no idea"

Anyway, back to topic.......

not by all brexiteers. i am quite happy to accept not everyone is happy about the situation and there is due process to go through that will require decision making by some of the above that won't please some leave voters. i don't even have trouble with a second referendum even though i think extending the period of uncertainty/limbo that it would bring on would be daft, especially as i doubt very much the result would change.

i am pretty sure if i was of the mind i could come up with just as long a list of prominent brexiteers that have been the brunt of far more vitriol from the remain camp but what exactly would it add to the debate.
