Lying to the police under caution counts as 'perverting the course of justice' though, so if he said anything while being questioned that turned out to be deliberately false, that'd be perversion. Nothing more complex than that.
BBC news channel were reporting it today as relating to disposal of the body, rather than lying under caution. No idea if it's true or not.AB said:

Well that's one way of describing it, but you've got who stalked who around a forum the wrong way around.

Liaise with each other, book a room, get it out of your system.
Come back and be sensible.
So, turns out Bridger is kind of related to April Jones. In a throughly chavvy underclass modern way.

Without a body or witnesses how can they find him guilty? Isn't it supposed to be beyond reasonable doubt?
Pure guess, but assuming it wasn't normal for him to pick her up off the street and take her somewhere, combined with her ending up dead, I would suggest that no matter what story he makes up there is little doubt there.blindswelledrat said:

Machynlleth has a population of a couple of thousand people and is located in a fairly sparsely populated rural area - I should think everybody is kind of related to some extent.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/96002...

You don't need a body for a murder conviction, just enough circumstantial evidence to piece together. This was the case with a recent trial in Edinburgh (Suzanne Pilley went missing in city centre and the body has never been recovered. I went to the trial due to part of my job and it was very interesting). The other recent case was the murder of Arlene Fraser were her husband Nat Fraser was recently convicted and the body has never found.
