Could UK U-turn on Referendum Result
Discussion
Radio 4's Any Questions?; Kinnock Jr utters some fluent drivel about brexit.

the racist parts of the leave campaign did NOT win the referendum, it will have caused some "swing" voters to vote leave but not enough to swing it all the way by a long shot.
I say this as a remain person.
the side effect though is that some people think it did, and some of these people are racist thugs and think that they can now openly voice and act the way they want.
It as simple as that.
The Tories are not helping it by trying to out UKIP the UKIP party.

So you've taken a bit of banter about a (now-banned) keyboard warrior who claimed to be a builder, and seamlessly woven it into a "Leavers are violent racists" narrative. And then you expect people not to think you are an utter dick.
You're wrong there mate.
The thought actually comforts him. My sons teacher tells me that sometimes children act up to get attention, even if it is negative and disciplinary attention. You're wrong there mate.
As I predicted, ajd will come back with a snide retort thinly veiled behind some new nonsense about racism. It's behaviour that has been repeated throughout the whole thread.
Don't rise to the bait folks, it's whatvtrolls like.

It's the likes of //ajd making out that any leave voter is racist that really gives credence to any leave voter who actually is a racist thug, after all, if there's little more legitimate than a voting majority in a democracy....the side effect though is that some people think it did, and some of these people are racist thugs and think that they can now openly voice and act the way they want.
Ironic really, when he seems to prefer an immigration policy favouring mostly white people from Western Europe.

Relax though, Daniel has confirmed he isn't racist, so everything is OK.

Of course Daniel could have been a remainer.
What do you reckon?

///ajd is one of the reasons why many people no longer post on threads like this. After all, whats the point of explaining anything to someone who's sole mantra is that you're a racist if you voted out?
How does the guy who did that not end up in prison? He got 12 months, suspended for 15 months, and what looks like some form of community service order.
This makes little sense to me. You can end up in prison for dangerous driving because dangerous driving presents a

Really //ajd, you should read all of the articles you come across before you post them. Edited by b2hbm on Sunday 23 October 07:23

Clock someone around the face, unprovoked, with a plank of wood - thereby creating not simply danger but real injury - because you don't like the language they're speaking - surely an aggravating feature - and you get a suspended sentence? How?
How indeed, the offender should have been locked up.Well a couple have condemned the plank attack. That's good.
Quite a few would rather attack me. Interesting.
The ramp up in anti-foreigner sentiment rose throughtout the campaign.
The fires were well stoked by May - look at this from Farage in April - "take it to the enemy"

The Chief Exec of the BBA has been talking to the Observer about the risks of a hard brexit:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/oct/22/l...
I realise that some will dismiss it simply because it was run by a left wing paper. However, that misses the point. The BBA will be in very close dialogue with the banking sector on this issue and will be the primary conduit for lobbying.
Ministers like to meet with trade associations rather than individual companies to avoid allegations of bias. The BBA have obviously decided that it would be sensible to take their lobbying public.
I don't know if a hard brexit will really cause the banks to move, but the existence of this article makes it clear that they do not see it as good for business. It also blows away the idea that hard vs soft brexit is a false dichotomy.

How indeed, the offender should have been locked up.Before any usual suspect comes back with a snidey smart arse comment that the second sentence above is an attempt to defend the miscreant in thus case, it is definitely not. Don't have any knowledge of his previous record or character, whacking someone with a plank and causing injury just because you've got issues with foreigners is not acceptable and we don't want behaviour like that in society. A spell away from the freedom that our society provides might send a message.
