Talking about gambling, raffle tickets will be on sale soon to fund the election campaign. First prize is a low mileage motorhome.
2nd prize is a ferry,needs a little work.The Gravy Bus
The Luxury Motorhome
The SturgeonCopter
It's the top prizes on an acid-fuelled version of Bullseye, and something tells me we won't be seeing much of that this time round.
I'm expecting waffle about "online engagement" and "grassroots campaigning", because those are really, really cheap.

Can't have an election during the Scottish school holidays?
Why's that then?
Does everyone in Scotland spend the entire six weeks in Florida?
How about they only spend five weeks in Florida and spend a few days visiting Muckle Flugga where they can enjoy practising their Gaelic.
No Gaelic spoken in Shetland, they never have been Gaelic speaking and have their own diatect. Why's that then?

I didn't hear much dialect but it is easy to mistake their accent for Norwegian, for obvious reasons.

"If you had offered me the prospect of the SNP losing more than thirty seats in early 2023, I would have told you it was impossible. I expected trench warfare with the SNP to continue indefinitely, but we can break through their line and send in the cavalry and turn the SNP’s retreat into a rout. "
"The SNP has a new dull leader who has never achieved anything. It has a dreadful record in government and has changed Scotland for the worse not least by bringing a level of corruption and incompetence to government that was unimaginable when I was a child.
If we don’t punish the SNP now, we will deserve all that follows. "

In the public interest? Of course it bl00dy isJohn Swinney is showing once again how bad he is at politics, just like his predecessor.
The obvious and smart thing to do is to cut Matheson adrift and make a virtue of it, but by coming out to defend him today just reminds the public how corrupt the SNP are.
I know Alex Salmond isn’t popular in this thread, but I do enjoy listening to him when he is a guest of Mike Graham on TalkTV, especially when he is taking the SNP apart for their incompetence. You can say many things about him, but he at least knew how to do “politics”.

It's not just politics, it's manifestly the right thing to do. The obvious and smart thing to do is to cut Matheson adrift and make a virtue of it, but by coming out to defend him today just reminds the public how corrupt the SNP are.

That's what irritates; people hate it when politicians (or anyone else 'in authority/power') does something that they know they wouldn't get away with themselves.
