Sir Ed Davey - Lib. Dem Leader
Discussion
I think we should take a moment to acknowledge how incredibly well the LDs did in the local elections. The results mean that they have now gained the most council seats of any party in the last 5 years - 768 (the Cons have lost 1,783).
Well done Sir Ed, their councillors and all the party workers. Top work.

If it means they end up with more MPs at the next election then that's a good thing. Hopefully then Ed can shape a better front bench.
The projected national shares of the vote was down on 2023 at 17% but there were less seats up for grabs.
They will be celebrations in Tunbridge Wells and Oxford.

Indeed. Hopefully they can make inroads at the GE in the SE. Pretty sure that Hunt and Gove are worried! The projected national shares of the vote was down on 2023 at 17% but there were less seats up for grabs.

Ed Davey is planning a vote of no confidence in Rishi Sunak's government.
Possibly tomorrow. It will be a momentous event and whilst doomed to failure will be something that those tip top journalists can get excited about. There will be on the spot commentary from the journos and acres of coverage.
Soon everyone will know just who Ed Davey is and what he stands for
