1 Dead, 9 Sick from McDonald's Fumes

The late Auberon Waugh was a strong believer in the deadly effects of hambuger gases. From wiki...
"Waugh held, or affected to hold that while the dangers of smoking (especially passive smoking) and drinking were exaggerated, the dangers of hamburger eating were seriously under-reported; he frequently referred to "hamburger gases" as a serious form of atmospheric pollution and even made references to the dangers of "passive hamburger eating". He even said that computer games "produce all the symptoms and most known causes of cancer", though his tongue was probably in his cheek when he made those comments. The Tobacco Advisory Council of the UK organised for a pro-smoking book to be ghosted for either Bernard Levin or Auberon Waugh. Neither columnist agreed to put their name to it, but Waugh wrote a foreword endorsing the book and hitting out at the anti-smoking lobby: "Let us hope this book strikes a blow against the new control terrorists,"

- be careful out there.
"A terrible diet and room with no ventilation are being blamed for the death of a man killed by his own gas. There were no marks found on his body, but an autopsy revealed the presence of large amounts of methane dissolved in his blood.
His diet had consisted primarily of beans and cabbage, just the right combination of foods to produce a severe gas attack. It appears that the man died in his sleep from breathing the poisonous cloud that was hanging over his bed.
Had his windows been open, the flatulence wouldn't have been fatal, but the man was shut up in a nearly airtight bedroom. He was an obese man with an unlimited capacity for creating the deadly gas. Three rescuers became sick and one was hospitalized."

Definitely a possibility but you'd think firefighters would recognise chlorine...however "firefighters noticed a smell in the bathroom but were not able to identify the source"
Then again it only refers to the source, not that they couldn't identify the smell.
Or possibly realise when dealing with a noxious atmosphere that they might need to wear BA of some sort? Police chief "revenew" Oh the irony!! Then again it only refers to the source, not that they couldn't identify the smell.

They have examined the CCTV from the bathroom and believe that they have identified the culprit.
