Totally agree about the Clapton thing, he is dull dull dull, Gilmour is far more deserving of the title Slowhand.
Never understand why a guitarist wants to be called "slowhand" anyway. Surely this is like calling a racing driver "slow steer"?Back on the thread, I do rate Harrison, liked his stuff from Day One.

Clapton was never 'God', Green was! I was lucky enough to have been there and watched it.From the minute he took Clapton's place in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and onwards
until the acid took this wonderful ability of this fabulous guitar player.
Clapton is just there because of his name. There are a multitude of guitarists who are far better imo.
The defining moment between Green and Clapton was in Boston USA in February 1970 when (the old) Fleetwood Mac were on a high (in more ways than one).
3 consecutive nights at the Boston Tea Party venue, the highlight was at the end... Peter Green seemingly knackered went back onstage with the rest of the band, including young Danny Kirwan (another great) for encore jam, joined by Joe Walsh, a couple of members of the James Gang band and... ERIC CLAPTON.
Clapton was out of his depth... and it showed!
The press said Clapton was 'low key'.
I'd say!!
As for a Beatles reunion: how daft.
If he hadn't been shot, Lennon would still be near the top (in the US, he loved it there and they loved him - well, apart from the FBI and government!). Harrison would still be going strong, but the likelihood of a reunion, nah.
There's a bit of link between all the above. George married Pattie Boyd who was later married to Eric, and Pattie's sister Jenny married Mick Fleetwood.
And Green's Fleetwood Mac played a great rendition live of 'Twist and Shout' lasting nearly 8 mins, with Green sounding as powerful as Lennon, abeit not as commercial.

Jason Bonham did ok apparently.
"The headline act was the English rock band, Led Zeppelin, who performed their first full-length concert since the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, in a one-off reunion. Bonham's son Jason Bonham played drums during the band's set, and also provided backing vocals on two songs."

Someone said "I guess they could use a hologram of the other two, or Julian Lennon could 'stand in' for his dad I suppose...", and I just pointed out that Jason took John's place.

What, get JB in to take Ringo's place? That'd work. There's no doubt he's a better drummer. Have you heard his playing on either of the two Black Country Communium albums?
and Jimmy Page to stand in for Harrison...Then whilst we're at it bring in Robert Plant and J.P. Jones to 'stand in' for McCartney & Lennon...

A better version would have been for the bullet to find McCartney- we would have been saved all sorts of ste like pipes of peace and the frog song (two of his better works following 1980 IMO so giving him a bit of a booster mentioning them ) and that terrible one legged gold digger would be stuck shagging arabs for money.
