Political nepotism
Discussion
In my view, nepotism describes a situation where those in power misuse their position to favour their family.
The situation you describe is merely that families with tonnes of cash, influence, ambition and political contacts are likely to sucessfully put forward political candidates.
Much in the same way a kid whose Dad is part of the F1 racing scene is more likely to get into top flight racing themselves at an early age than someone whose Dad is an Charted Accountant (not that I'm bitter or anything)

Lots of actors kids follow their parents, would imagine it's part up bringing and part connections.
The most sensible post of the thread IMO.The other way to look at it is, I suppose, that it doesn't matter who is actually President. They are simply a figurehead for their party and all the really important decisions are simply fed through them.
The thing they gain is a better chance of receiving the nomination. If the public disagree the won't get elected.
My son got a Saturday job with me, if he hadn't been my son..........He didn't face a vote, so perhaps our sons/daughters receive more favourable treatment.

British Politics has been ever more dumbed down since 1832.
TBH I don't know whether that's is the case or not, I certainly wouldn't be tempted to argue the point. But it has made me wonder, are Politicians less honest now or is it because we all get to hear and read of mis-doings. In the past perhaps it was simply accepted that Politicians are the people that lead and govern and the common man would hear nothing of wrong doing?Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
